easiest fix ever
A few days a ago i slamming through the gears a little bit and went i slowed down i started to feel a little shudder in my second gear take off's. Right away i thought "oh man, i blew my rear end" but the only time i really felt it was when i tried to acceerate under 2k rpm in second and third. A friend says it feels like a slipping clutch, so i check the fluid and it's empty. Now i'm thinking it is the clutch or the slave. I take it to my local shop and the guys drives it around a figures its not the clutch, says there is no reason to drop the trans. So he fools around with it a little and decides to spray some water under the hood by the plugs and said it was like 4th of July under there and the car almost died out. His diagnosis is a bad plug and wire. He recommends to me a tune up of plugs wires and fuel filter and wants to charge me 670 something. TOO much for that, lol, so i get some plugs and wires today and go to change number 2, the problem one, and THIS IS THE BEST PART...the damn wire wasn hardly on the plug!!! I almost spent 1000 on a clutch and slave replacement. I still plan on doing the tune up but that one plug solved the problem. It was my lucky day.

Yep, happened to me once on my old white Firebird. Sounds horrible when it happens and now, I check them when I'm under the hood doing anything. I've also heard of coil pack(s) blowing as a result.

Lol, I had the same kinda thing where my car stalled out and I thought the optispark crapped out (it was on its way out, to my defense) and had the car towed to the shop and a full tune-up with plugs/wires etc. authorized ... and it turned out that I just ran out of fuel and forgot to look at the gauge ... lol, duh!
