Sounds like you are pretty slender like me. I did that one day at a competition in basic training, with no prior pull ups for practice or to work on pull ups if you know what i mean...i really doubt i can do that many now. I bet i could get 20. i got a camera so...lets start the competition haha

i weigh 155 and put up 255 on the smith machine, and i can do 215 on the freeweights rep wise, i don't know about my max, i ended up pulling a muscle in my back.........and i really don't know why my back of all things? I think it is because i arched it.................smith machine is way easier...........I've put up 225 a while back on free weights, but i was working out on deployment and all we had was a smith machine.

Freeweights in high school maxed at 225. A year after I started lifting with a friend and maxed at 245, but I haven't benched since
I played football in high school and we were only allowed to max once a month. Kind of like a benchmark to see how we were coming along...I'm pretty weak compared to most people in that aspect. Benching was always compared to how well you could push someone around/ get seperation, which is only half of the equation, seeing as I could push through an offensive lineman that could bench 325.....Leverage; How weak people seem strong...lol
I'm 6' even and when these were measured I weighed about 205...Now, I don't even wanna go there lol

This is a perfect example of how much of a difference is possible.
Shit Machines are only good for a pull up bar, hanging your towel, and the occasional hise shrug.
You pulled something in your back cuz..well, it could be an array of reasons. Your posterior chain serves as the brakes on a lift such as a bench press. Without it, you would drop that shit directly onto your chest.
When you start thinking about movements vs. body parts, the whole idea of "full body workout" becomes clear.

Yeah youll find that on a Smith machine you can put up a good amount more.. I do box squats on one cus my gym doesnt have a real squat rack. When i use the machine, i can squat 405 4 times. You think i can do that without the machine? HELL NO, im 185 lbs and 6'3. Realistically i could do 315 4 times. Its a terrible machine, but if its all you got then at least your lifting, you just have to adjust when switching to free weights.

I've only ever used a smith machine once, for squats when a real squat rack wasn't available. I didn't like it, it felt uncomfortable and weird... maybe I was using it wrong

Upped it today.
63 pounds.
The 16 ounce crown and coke curls seem to be a regular rep though.
