Thread: How much do you bench?

on here you've posted a few, you get the general idea that you are a pretty skinny dude. Anythings possible, but i'm quite a bit bigger then you and have been lifting a pretty long time, and only have maxed about 20 pounds more. The guys at my gym that are your size are benching 125 lbs or so, like I said anythings possible. But this is infact ls1.com where everything defies the laws of physics, logic, and reasoning lol
If you do infact bench that even 2 good reps, you are a strong lil bastard for your size.

well... like i said, that was my MAX lol. i mean, it was a good day, i took some creatine and one of those 5 hour energy shots and felt like i could lift a bus. i went down to my chest an up, and down, and i couldnt get it back up. but whatev... yea i am a pretty skinny dude, but i can out-eat anyone i know, and i have been unemployed for a while now, so when im not out partying i basically just sit at home, eat while in postin on ls1, and work out constantly
well my bar either weighs 25 or 35lb, so its either 205 or 195.
i guess i am just one of those rock hard skinny guys

I can do 26 with my hands facing straight. Man, I got a 29 inch waist on a good day. I have to be like 7% body fat. I don't weight lift, but besides running a lot at the gym, I do a lot of pull ups at home on our clothes line poles. I used to have a sweet 30 foot rope I'd climb using arms only but we cut down the tree =( Now if only I had a salmon ladder like the one from ninja warrior.

was just a work out one of my friends who was a trainer turned me on to. heavy weight lots of reps to help me build and tone cause my metabilism sucks. but when we benched we would go to the neck instead of the chest. helps increase bench strength greatly. for me any ways. just make sure you have a good spotter.,.

just because someone has lifted for 5 years longer than someone, takes supplements, and works out every day doesnt mean they can bench jack squat, you should remember that.. i know plenty of guys that i lift with that are much smaller than me and do the same reps i do.. him doing that much weight to me is not suprising or hard to believe at all..
i am going to school to be a personal trainer.. i have never heard of this method... what else does your work out consist of.. sorry for the questions, but im curious..
youd have to be one strong SOB to do that kind of weight that many times and not be greatly putting strain on your muscles.. i would think it wouldnt help at all, only hurt.. since this is coming from a trainer i wonder though... is he certified?

Most personal trainers are idiots. Most of those idiots arent even certified, but some of those idiots ARE certified.
You dont have to go to school to be a CPT. I went through NASM.org.
Also, going through a certification wont help provide knowledge on how to bench press more. In fact, they wont tell you shit about how to increase Max lifts. Most of your future clients arent going to be even interested in any of that shit. Theyll majorally be deconditioned and thrive for a healthier way to live.
As far as that method goes, its just another way to break past a plateau. Change of grip, volume, exercise selection, etc. Theyre just tools.

wow... thank you....
i was just curious to wether he considered himself a personal trainer or he was certified at the least or went to school...
not ALL personal trainers are idiots... and true, while most people you deal with dont give a lying shit wether they bench 200 plus, or they havnt done that in 40 years, to be a thourough trainer you have to know all ends and outs..
tools.....? be a little bit easier on people man.. dang

I meant the parameters for setting up a max lift program are tools.

I was asking a trainer a year or so ago why she made her client have an "arm day." She said because needed one. I breezed over her client's program and pointed out where her arms are already being used. She looked puzzled. I said to her "in the compound movements, her arms are being exercised....." She looked puzzled again, but said "what are compounds?"
