Because people want results, and have the money to throw around.

I just started going to the gym a couple of weeks ago.. Always used to play sports so I'm pretty well built, but never really got into weight lifting..

I feel weak in the gym though.. Doing 4 sets of 20 reps now, in order to strengthen the ligaments before lifting a lot of weight.. So I am only benching like 70lbs lol

    Played soccer/basketball.

    I only weigh like 150lbs.

I can do more than 70lbs. , but doing 20 reps with 4 sets, my muscles get fatigued.

    I do 20 x2 on a flat bench, then 20 x2 on incline.

285 for 12 reps is a great lift, but is your goal hypertrophy?

You want to clear 300... Well, you can, I can tell you that much. If your goal is to max out, 12 reps of anything is only wasting your time.

Don't sweat it - you have to start from somewhere.

Weight lifting does not cause shrinkage.

I'm gonna ask a straight Q here, and I'm not flaming or starting a war I'm serious to know what your guys opinions on this is. Does anyone ever think about what you are going to look like down the line if you don't maintain that size and strength? Does anyone here regret or know anyone that regrets getting that jacked and than when you are older, and by that I mean 45-65 range where everything starts to sag and you have "baloney tits" for lack of a better phrase? I work for UPS delivering so that is all the cardio I need, I can run 5 miles WO breaking a sweat, as far as lifting I just try to maintain a healthy muscle build WO going overboard because of the above mentioned reasons. Doesn't Arnold S. look like a fat shit now? I would like to hear your opinions on this because from everything Ive read here you guys know what you are talking about. Thanks
