my car a4 76,000 miles is running like dog shit right now haha. I do not dog this car it's babied 95% of the time. I've done the regular oil change every 3 thousand with mobil 1 synthetic. I hear a horrible noise in the rear end sometimes. I had the auburn torsen differential put in it when I ordered it. This one is you experts.. what do I need to do to get it running right again? Got my plugs and wires.. their scheduled to go in ... was told getting the fuel injection system cleaned would help.. I know it's in serious need of a tune up though.. so ideas?

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
My car gets the best gas mileage when the key is in the "OFF" position and the car is rolling down hill......

So I took my wife/kids on a weekend to the coast. I got into it a couple times with some fellow speed freaks, a camaro, an audi and some dumbass in an acura. I averaged 85 mph, with little spurts up to 110+. The amazing part is, I got 132 miles on 5.3 gallons! Thats almost 25 mpg...amazing. I kept it in 6th, aside for 4-5 donwshifts to get me up to 110+ mph. I can't imagine what kind of mileage I'd get in 6th the whole time.
These cars really are the whole package. I meet kids all the time who say: "my STI will dust you", funny I tell them, your still trying to catch up to a 7 year old car...sad.

BG 44k works wonders, and it will give an almost cam2 boost til you run the tank dry.

200 miles on 13-14 gallons, that's what I get too. If I baby her, or do a lotta highway driving I'll get 280+. I can almost hear that LS sucking fuel from the tank when i get on it, like when your McDonalds cup starts to empty.
...these cars are fun.

Well lets see, I go to the gas station and as all the people there look at me like I am crazy for driving this Black on Black 2000 SLP/Z28/SS/LS1/Six Speed Camaro while I am filling up with 4.75 a gallon premium gas.
and even I have to remind my self that this awesome sounding car gets really good gas mileage, skip shifting in town and on the freeway. I drive all freeway to work. the problem starts when I get on the freeway and I see the same C5 Corvette everyday and we go through our getting in front of the rest of traffic game and then it is on! usually 130 to 150 till we hit the next bit of traffic.
Well there goes the mileage! but it is really fun to drive!

Have you ever changed your front O2 sensors? They can become skewed after 75k or so miles, sounds like you are running way rich. Is your car stock? Is your MAF stock? Are your rear gears stock? Is your car misfiring? Do you have aftermarket heads or camshaft?
I easily get 25 MPG (sometimes 27) highway when I had my '98 AT 2.73 TA, and the '00 6-spd 3.42 gives me 26-28.1 highway. Stock tunes, I have LT on the '00 which boosted highway MPG about 1.5. Both cars have aftermarket lids.
Highway range over 350 miles.

well i just put 90 thou. miles in my car 2 days ago, my mods are headers, exhaust, transgo shift kit, volant intake, port/polised tb and maf and tune . and as for my o2's they have never been changed, i aint running rich thoug, my maf is stock, still got 273 in rear.. but ive noticed that when am over 50 mph and i let go of the gas i hear lil bubbly popping sounds(not loud) , as if i have an an air leak. but i dont have air leaks so it aint that.

I get pretty good mileage with cruise control enabled, but it's hard to do that during the day time.
