You seem to have your $hit together, Jimmy. You have a good plan going for you and your attitude is the key to your future. There will be tough spots for sure but you are smart and resourceful. I must admit you have a lot more going for you than I did at 17. There is no way I could have made the decision you did. You have my respect.

ball up and tell em, they'll be shocked and dissapointed for quite a while. But they'll get over it and everything will work out with them. I'm not saying college is everything or you can't make it without it, but I guarantee you WILL reap some major benefits from it at one point or another. Work your ass off and save some money, this is where it gets hard, trying to go to school, pay for the kid and living expenses, work overtime to save money for school etc. If you get to a point where you think you're not gonna make it, you will, it may not seem like it, but trust me. I can honestly say I'm surprised nobody has told you to join the military, free on base housing, no utilities, commisary, full coverage on health and dental insurance, free tuition, MGIB, which gives you like 36K+ for 3yrs. of school, steady employment with the chance to move up without college and more than likely you'll get a big sign up bonus for joining, consider it, you'd be dumb not to.

heck i'm getting all the aid I can, but I can't get much. I come from a rich family that makes enough to where in tennessee i can't legally get a scholarship.

i remember a program called "wic" from when i worked in a grocery store years ago... they were very common and i think they give you free formula, milk, cheese, and cerials...

The kid deserves a kick in the ass for having unprotected sex; however, he deserves a pat on the back for sticking around and taking responsibility (as basic as it sounds, a lot of people in the situation don't).

Personally I'd rather my contribution to a welfare fund goes to some one who uses the govt aid to get on their feet (as seems to be the case here). I'd rather pay for daycare costs associated with a child who has two parents that work and go to school then paying for some fat lazy b---h to keep sitting on her ass and popping out kids.

I think you are full of shit personally because i could name off plenty of programs they offer if you had really called since i had volunteered for a foodstamp office for a few summers. You being a minor alone gets you plenty of stuff.

honestly would you rather the money go to a baby factory or to someone that is going to work their hardest to get to where they don't need the aid and can stand up on their own? The money is going to it either way, but would you rather the money go to someone like me who doesn't like the idea of being on it, or someone who lives off of it their whole life and uses it as their means of living? that is the only question you should ask yourself. in tennessee 45 percent of the residents are on some form of government aid. I am not going to be receiving a ton of stuff. heck after the baby is 5 we don't even qualify for the insurance anymore. technically, I am a middle class citizen in tennessee after I turn 18. the government says with my personal income I should be able to support a family. there is no reason I shouldn't take that aid. It I did, I would be a fool

no I turn 18 in october. because I will be 18 when the baby is born, I don't qualify for shit. my parent's income is over 2mil a year. I can't even get scholarships in tennessee because of that.

again, i don't qualify because of my parent's income. My mom actually took it better than I thought and she said even if my dad doesn't want to help me that she will, so I am not too worried.
