turn signal socket
i have a bad turn signal socket. went to advance and got a new one. problem is that is isnt the same as the one i have. mine take the flat/blade style bulb 3157 and the socket they gave me takes a round style bulb 1057 i think. i have checked online and the one they gave me is what everyone says it used. mine hasnt been spliced in or anything and both sides are the same. rockauto has one that kinda looks like it for $44 but im trying not to spend that much. what are my options

yeah i noticed this at the advanced auto the other day . . they didnt carry a socket like ours, just for the cylindrical type bulb. . . you may call a salvage yard? or check gmpartsdirect.com?

just got on gmpartsdirect and they have the same one that advance has only it is $36. would it be okay to just get the one for the round bulb and just get a new bulb or will it not work like that. they both have the 3-wire hookup but i want my turn signal and running lights to work correctly

I my self am always one to put the right part in in the forst place, even if it mean spendinga few extra bucks and going to the dealer, personally I would go there and get the AC/Delco service part.

before you go to the dealer go to the help section of autozone, where all the bulbs and replacement sockets are. this is the part number you need to get 85881 (turn and stop socket with ground tab). This one uses the same bulb and only costs about 8.00

Wow, wish i would have seen this about three months ago. I went to NAPA to get a replacement socket, thanks to a cracked turn signal lens letting tons of water in and corroding the contacts beyond repair. It was like $45 for one socket, CRAZY. My other one just did this, too....on my way to AutoZone. Great advice
