Lower control arms.....

Are lower control arms worth buying? Do you notice a difference, and are they hard to install?

depending on the LCA, you can either hinder or improve handling.

among other things, the LCA makes sure the rear axle stays perpendicular to the direction of the car... don't want the axle to do steering... lol
When doing it's job, bushings will bind... especially polyurethane.
When that happens, it's not letting it do its job... and you'll lose traction earlier than if you had the stock ones.
Rod-ends will be better, but you have to make sure you get proper ones... otherwise, they'll just be noisy and clunking noises will occur.

polyurethane bushings will kill your cornering... drag only.
The rear of the car will be more tail happy and you'll lose traction earlier, ie, you'd be able to push the car more cornering without losing traction w/ stock setup.
You decide on your priorities, though.

i'd stay away from polyurethane bushings, unless you want a drag-car.
I'd stay w/ stock ones or go for something like this:

Hi clg82,

If you really don't want adj rod ends on both ends, Edelbroch makes a nice one(#5274) that's made with thick .120 wall tubes and poly. on the chassis end,then spherical bearing on the axle end, but there not adjustable if that matters to you.That would be a nice compromise between suspension flex and noise. I've been looking at these for a while now since the spherical bearing in my 8yr old global west control arms started to drive me crazy with all the noise they make. Don't get me wrong the suspension flex is way better then stock arms and only a little louder then poly on both ends with good bearings , but once the bearings start going out they get NOISY!
