Piston slap or not???
Ok My camaro makes the awfullest rattling, knocking noises just about all the time. I have an 01 GMC truck that does the same but it stops shortly after start up. everybody calls it the Notorious Vortec Rattle. My SS sounds the same but it doesnt quit. It has good oil Pressure. so is this just the nature of the Ls1 engines or do i have a time bomb on my hands?

Black/Black- '00 Firebird WS6 T/A
my '00 WS-6 has the same sort of problem.. my theory is that someone prior to me changed the spark plugs and left off the gasket to the AIR pipe when they put it back together. Throws an AIR code from time to time.
Car runs very strong and very well, no problems at all.
