Yet another Sara update...
Well, Sara was back down at Childrens again today.
I am not able to determine if this is good or bad news yet, but it is news.
The urologist ran a test today to determine bladder function. He scheduled this last Thursday when I was at the last test session as he hadn't seen her bladder EVER have anything in it.
Results came back from today...and it turns out her bladder never relaxs, which in turn backs up the kidneys.
So, we have a script for Sara to get some medicine to help.
BUT...the urologist seems to think that medicine won't fix this problem.
This is where it gets a little confusing to me, so bear with me.
Apparently, when your spinal column forms, the tail of it should be attached to nothing. Well, her doctor seems to think (judging by todays results) that there might be a muscle attached to the end of the column...which also connects to the bladder, thus basicly making the bladder muscles twitch all the time.
SO....yet another MRI for Sara. But, the urologist seemed to think if that is the case, it could very well be related to her leg issues.
God I hope so, I can't take too much more of this.
I need some Zoloft or something.

Or me for that matter. At least she looks like her mom.
Seriously, has anyone been so overwhelmed with what is on your plate, you just don't want to do anything??
I am seriously struggling with all this. Work is normally just a minor pain in the ass, but lately, it is the last thing on my 'To Do' list, and my attendance over the last few months shows it. Just the added BS I suppose.
Do depression meds help?
PM me if you don't want to post publicly please.
I need a little advice/guidance.

I can't even imagine it and I'm sure it's putting a huge amount of stress on both you and your wife. You guys should trade off and give the other a complete break from everything for a day. Take a Saturday and go somewhere with some buddies and do whatever you like to do then return the favor to the wife. Helps to just recharge sometimes and get your mind off things. I wouldn't be able to make it without the 3 months of bow season. Gives me some weekends to myself with no one around.

I need to give Julie some time here soon.
I am taking some myself soon. Dyno day is Sunday (probably just BS'ing with other owners though) and I will be racing it next week a couple times.
Going to see a psychologist this afternoon. Just to see for right now.

Hopefully some good news will come out of all of these tests they keep running. Antidepressants work for some people but not all. It is a long process to find the right one for you as well. Alot of people I know have suicidal thoughts on some of the medication because it isn't helping produce the right chemicals in there brain but that's all I can say. I believe Zoloft and Prozac are the two highest ones you can get so I wouldn't recommend something like that to start off with. Maybe something like Lexipro or Paxil(not so strong).

He is going to start me on a low dose of ProZac.
I can't imagine it not helping...and if it works, will most likely be off it in 9-12 months and back to normal.

I am recently divorced. And I would say it was a very traumatic experience. I still think worrying about your child is so much more intense. The best advice I got is take it one day at a time. Don't think into the future too much. Don't let your mind wander. ( I know impossible). But do anything to distract yourself from bad thoughts. I blast the radio and dance around the house. My kids think it is funbut it is my way of relieving stress in my life. Try to talk about the good things in your life, try to focus on the good things. Find a good friend who will JUST listen. And your wife probably isn't the best since this is something you are going through together.
If you feel like crying - then do it - don't deny yourself your feelings!
I used to just go through the motions of the day - try to keep things as simple as possible.
And most of all hug those closest to you as much as possible!
Hang in there. I hope this helps.Last edited by Stevie; 09-14-2007 at 04:24 PM.
