UMI vrs SLP subframe connectors
I read some posts that people were installing the UMI 3 point subframe connectors, can someone tell me why one is better than the other, or what made them choose one over the other?

re:
My 2 cents both are really good parts and yes SLP customer service is not the greatest, but you can buy the SLP connectors from someone else that does have good customer service, for example I got my SLP’s from LS1Speed Inc. The big difference is that you can get the UMI’s in different colors where the SLPs are just black. Other then that I'd get the ones you could find the cheapest personally.

i have the slp 3 point and i wouldn't recommend them. they didn't fit well at all and there was very little clearance between the driver side sfc and the y-pipe.

I sell both SLP and UMI. UMI's tuck better, and cost less... I'd recommend UMI. You can see the fit of a set of UMI 3-points here: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=22&ModelID=7 These are bolt-in's, but there are also weld-ins, and 2 points too.

Welding is always the strongest, but once they are in is hard to unweld. Where the bolt-ins you can unbolt them to work under the car etc. Performance difference between the two: on the street my 2cents you will not be able to tell the difference. A race only app. I still don’t think you well see a difference in performance.
I personally have the bolt-ins and have had no problems after 3 years of use.

vetteemt hit it on the head. Welding is strongest, bolt-in is easiest. HOWEVER, you can always weld-in connectors that were bolted in if you see fit. Many do that for various reasons.

Thanks guys,
your answers make it rather easy: I'll go for the bolt -ins and if they don't do the trick as I like, which I doubt!, I can weld em in anyway.
