Ly6 short block Swap Help
Hello guys new to ls1.com mostly been a ls1tech guy so thanks for having me.
I picked up a free ly6 short block, jus the pan is all that came with it. I need some help on what will transfer over from my ls1. I jus finished my ls1 turbo build about a month and a half ago and while I was breaking everything in I had a pretty big set back. I split the number 6 cylinder wall all the thur I swear I never got on this car I was trying to break in my M9 and new clutch. With that being said how much can I swap over from my ls1, I am clueless.
I need info on lifers, pushrods , knock sensors in the valley of the ls1, oil pan and timing cover. I want to upgrade to a double roller timing chain and don't know which cover to get.
Im not really worried about the heads im running, they are 317s and should work pretty good.
Im also pretty sure I will want to delete the VVT as well.
Jus to be clear I also plan on doing a 408 stroker before I go back in the car with it.
All help is very very appreciated.
Thanks
Tyler

Welcome to the site! Are you looking to upgrade all the parts listed or are you asking if what you have will swap over to the 6.0 block?

I am wondering what will transfer from my Ls1 to the 6.0. I don't wanna drop this thing off at the machine shop and then find out the trans won't work or something stupid like that. Jus trying to find all the trip hazzards of this swap.

Everything should swap over. This being said, I am uncertain if the LY6 crank has a 58x or 24x reluctor. The LS1 utilizes a 24x and that is what the PCM needs to see.

It has a 58x reluctor. I've read something about the lifters needing something done to their "bore" and knock sensor need taped to be able to install. Everything else swaps over.
