Power steering cooler install in pics
A good way to increase the life of your PS pump is to cool the fluid.....GM knew this and decided to use engine coolant to cool the PS fluid on WS6 birds (camaros too?)....a good idea with bad implementation as the pipe used to cool the PS fluid often (always?) failed and began to mix coolant with PS fluid.....which is never a good idea......so if you have a water cooler on your F bod its not a question on if the cooler will fail....its a question of when.....so if you have a cooler on your bird .......ditch it ASAP......and if you dont have a cooler on your bird.......you can install one real easy......Derale makes a thin long tranny cooler which makes for a excellent PS cooler......I mounted it behind the air dam......which may lot get a lot of direct air flow.....but it gets enough flow IMO to get the job done.............follow along
