Thats right. Yep....,3-0 baby Detroit what! Y'all ain't ready......we back.
You are really going to open your mouth and say that after they beat a team with a washed up QB and that won 5 games or so last year?
I agree Detroit is really good, and playing really well, and might make a run at the playoffs, but how about waiting to say something when they get a quality win, maybe a win over GB, division rival and defending SB champs, who are also 3-0.
They gonna run the table
Come on now you got to show love man, we for real this year
We shall see...
I sure didn't see a star studded performance today. I saw a lot of mistakes that would have killed them against a reasonable team. Fortunately for them, Vikings shot themselves in the foot several times.

Did you see that catch Calvin Johnson caught in ot? Megatron the best receiver in the league...and you guys saying lions ain't for real come on now....
I didn't say they are not legit this year, I said before the season even started, they were the team to look out for this year. You proclaiming them the best in the league, running the table etc, is very premature. The 3 teams they have beaten so far this year have a cumulative record of 2-7, and 2 of those 3 teams you can make an argument for being worst teams in the league. When Stafford makes it through the season avoiding injury, and they get some wins over LEGITIMATE playoff caliber teams, then you can brag all you want. Until then, its a lot of empty words.
Their core talent and skill position players are among the best in the league, they need some time and are lacking experience still yet though.
No Buffa-love?
GO BILLS
I am a Lions fan as well, but this is the only statement I agree with you.
The league looks more open this year, it could be anyone's superbowl. At least as far as we can tell at this point. I'm very curious to see what happens against the Saints, Packers (twice) and even Falcons. If we take 3 of 4 of those type of games, we'll have every right to start boasting. This is definitely going to be our best year on a very long time.
Neo yes buffalo is for real..so your saying the lions can't win it all this year? Please
I'll give some love to the bills game was great today
Haters doing what they do....
I will be happy and encouraged either way this season, but won't be bragging about being the best team in the NFL unless we've beaten the best teams out there.
The packers will be the hardest team we'll have to play, especially since we have to play them twice. But, we did take 1 from them last year with much less talent than this year.

OP, Who?? :lmao:
Lions
Lions are this yrs sAints "dream team" to the Superbowl. :lmao: they've only play one real tough team so far and they bearly one that one in OT. :lmao:
I was rooting for the Lions even though it would have been better for the Packers if they had lost. But thats only because I hate the Vikings and Detroit needs something to look forward too. You have to find a silver lining when everyday you work to make more money but your property value drops and you actually have less money than the day before.
This isn't about "haters". This is about being realistic.
The only thing you've said so far that really makes any sense was about Johnson.
Wait until they play the Packers twice, Chicago twice, and New Orleans. If they can come out of that mess 3-2, then you'll have something.
I know a guy who goes to vegas and puts 1g on the lions to win the superbowl every year! lol the odds are rediculous! f he wins hell be rich!
Well they do have the best lineman the league has ever seen.
from 0-16 to 16-0!
how long has he been betting? might just break even lol jk
But this sunday they come to cowboy stadium! If my wr's can learn their routes and center can ignore all voices except romo we should have a chance to score a td! considering their line blocks, a running game is established and dez's roids dont run out by halftime! GO COWBOYS!
I've been waiting for detroit to win a few games for a while now. Lord knows they need it. I don't think they're anywhere near being the best in the nfl but I see them doing well this year. I'd say there's an outside chance they can also win that division and go to the playoffs.
I bet they at least split the games with the packers. You have to be cautious with these teams.....they can get up for 1 game and really surprise a team. They do that plus the schedule difference plus the fact every team is going to play their best against the pack and I can see a slight chance of them winning the division.....not much of a chance but crazier things have happened.
Detroit what. Lions!!!!!!
That was a good comeback though :)
Jerry Jones didn't look too enthused about it, that's for sure. Still won't be impressed until the lions beat a better team... Not degrading them, they just haven't impressed me yet. They would have a hard time closing the gap if, say, the packers got an early lead like that. Dallas is notorious for blowing a good game with sucktastic 2nd half play

Every weekend now everyone keeps saying dont get excited they only beat so and so....well damn a win is a win! Im not even a lions fan but im rootin for them just so everyone will respect them. If you win games you win games nd right now based on their record, they are the best team in the nfl!
If and when they win the super bowl, you can run your mouth all you want to in regards to them being the best team in the NFL. That is usually what the Super Bowl signifies. A few wins in Sept and Oct really doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. Green Bay is the defending champions, and they are 4-0 right now. Until someone beats them, or Aaron Rodgers has a season ending injury they are the team to beat. I would just enjoy the fact that Detroit is winning and probably playoff bound for the first time since they had Barry Sanders. They are playing great right now, but they have not done anything to warrant them being crowned the best team in the NFL, yet. That title gets bestowed on someone in February, and not prior to that.
Even if they beat the Packers in the regular season, or even went 16-0, I am not "owning up" as you put it. The best team is decided in January and February, plain and simple.
shoot i should have said one of the best then...hopefully people got the point i was trying to make. Im just saying if you have been watching the lions they are playing good football!
Anything is possible in professional sports.
With really good skill players and a stout defensive line to stop the run and pressure the QB, anything is possible. Its difficult to transition from worst team in the league to best team in the league in a 2 year time period though. Stafford has to stay healthy for the entire year, which is something that has not happened yet. They also could not afford to lose Megatron either. Green Bay won the SB last year as the #6 seed. Winning the championship has a lot to do with timing and who is playing their best at the end of the year.
Yes they are.
That's the key right there......the team has to peak at the right time which is what most of the SB winners do. Look at the Pats a few years ago that almost ran the table. Then they go to the SB and lose to what I would call a lesser team in the Giants. In 09 the Saints lost their last 3 regular season games to teams like tampa and then killed it once they hit the playoffs. Last year they lose to frigin Seattle in the wild card round which was a terrible team.
good luck with this......you're team (like mine) has a great long history of losing. They're never gonna get respect even if they win it all. If I were you I would build a Stafford voodoo doll and pack it away some place very very safe and surround it with cotton balls. :D He has to stay healthy for them to continue on. I hope they beat er' bodies ass until they meet up with my team early december.
Suh is even more dominant than I initially thought. Double and tripled teamed almost every play...and he still makes tackles.
5-0 very impressive...after the last few seasons they deserve it
No one has completed a 4th and inches :)
i agree
Well they didn't look to pretty on Monday night. But All that really matters is the WIN!! 5 and 0 BABY!!
The Lions were a decent team last year (2010) with all those close losses that could have been close wins. This year they are winning. We'll have to see how they play the Niners this week.
How bout them Niners..... WOOT WOOT lol
Who is the Lion's backup QB?
Ugh, Sean Hill.
I like Drew Stanton better, he'll actually move out of the pocket, with some speed.
I catch alot of shit from alot of local people for Stafford bashing, I'm getting sick of inconsistency. I've never jumped on that band wagon. It's sad too, I really wanted a #9 Lions Jersey for my collection.
I am wondering if Murder wants to continue with the best team in the NFL motto for now...........

Enough said! The best last year and the best this year! Rodgers is a BEAST!!
PS: Not an impressive win today to say the least but its a win.
you ready for Sunday night? Saints in back to back prime time home games. I'm loving that. Hoping they play like they did Monday. Megatron is the shit though and is gonna have some serious yardage....just a matter if Detroit can outscore us. If Drew and Crew is on that'll be tough to do....they can put up 40 in no time.

Lions are 2-4 since that 5-0 start. They are going to be without Suh next few games as well. Real possibility they don't even make the playoffs now.
That Suh thing really hurt them. They also have a fairly tough schedule coming up. Last 3 games are Oak, SD, and GB. Giants are pretty much out of it now....their schedule really sucks. They have to sweep the cowboys to even have a chance and I don't see that happening. It's going to boil down to Detroit and Chicago.......Chicago has KC, Denver, Seattle, and Minn. coming up. Schedule is in their favor right now. Atlanta should have no problem locking up a wildcard at minimum and possibly the division depending on which saints team shows up the rest of the year. I think the NFC south is going to get one of those wildcards either way though.
I wouldn't count the Giants out just yet, but they are hanging on by a thread. Dallas has given away games this year, I am not real convinced they will win the division, but their road does look better than the Giants right now.
I expect Atlanta to get one of the wild cards as well. Chicago beat Atlanta and Detroit lost to Atlanta. That could factor into the 2 wild card spots as well. If the Bears had not lost Cutler I would say Detroit was in serious jeopardy of not making the playoffs, but like you, I think the other wild card spot will be between Detroit and Chicago.
I think once Hanie gets some field time the bears won't miss Cutler.....I don't even factor Cutler into the equation. He's a terrible terrible pussy of a QB.
First time I read this thread.... facepalm.jpg
I am a huge Detroit fan... I have been for all the years I've been watching football, and I've seen the worst. We have had great players in the past 20 years, Barry Sanders, Herman Moore.... etc. And we have a great team now. I am not, nor have ever been a Stafford fan. I'm definitely with Def on this one. When he's on, he's on... but when he's off......... he might as well be thumbing his butthole. Terrible. I too am partial to Drew Stanton. (mostly because I'm a Spartan fan too :p) But Shaun Hill is a has been, and Stafford is way to inconsistant to count on. At least Stanton won every game he started in last season.
We are definitely not the best team in the NFL... not even close. I do love the fact that we have players and coaches that play with their emotions on their sleaves too. Suh doing the Stanky-leg to GB linesmen.... just sayin. We are a great team if we can stay poised and consistant. We will see what next year brings, but this year is still a rebuild. I'm not expecting much.
Calvin is arguably the best reciever in the NFL too.
And the masses feel the same way... was it wrong to do, yes. But the game wasn't going good, and he was pissed off. Plus no one really knows what that lineman did to him to get him that pissed off anyway. All I'm saying is after all this team has been through, it is nice to see that the players do care enough to throw temper tantrums on the field. :lmao:
You're a GB fan... obviously.... you have your rich heritage, superbowl trophies, and winning seasons to fall back on. I'm a Detroit fan.... we have nothing!!! You can only use the Barry Sanders defense so many times. So it's nice to see a shot of life back into the team, even if it's a negative.
So you resort to falling back on a dirty play to show that your team plays with emotion?
The game wasnt going great but down buy 1 TD and they had GB stopped. It wasn't a shot of life it was a shot of the game was over from that point on. They had GB stopped and after he did that GB scored the 2nd touch down and never looked back.
Even without Suh, I predict 3 more wins this season. NO and GB are losses. But I think we can beat Oakland, SD, and an easy Min.
I hear what you're saying. I for one like watching a bad ass defensive lineman stomp the shit out of someone from time to time. It's football....it's a violent sport. Suh will be one of the great ones at some point.....he's just young and still learning the ropes. He'll get this put behind him and learn from it I'm sure. I actually don't see him changing the way he plays so he'll most likely be in trouble again at some point. He plays the position the way it was meant to be played.....pissed off. The sport has changed a lot over the years and has been reduced to almost sissy type play.....Suh brings it when he plays.
I agree on Megatron too....wish we had that guy. He's a beast. I root for Detroit (except this week :D ) to do well. I'd like to see them win a SB at some point in the near future. They've paid their dues and it's time.
It's almost pethetic to watch anymore with these stupid pussy penelties. You aren't even allowed to hit anyone. The Det / GB game, Lee for GB got ejected for spirited block shedding. You can't hit QB's and you can't even hit recievers anymore. It's kind of a joke. Jerry Rice, the greatest reciever of all time, did as great as he did with DB's trying to kill him every time he touched the ball. I understand they're trying to protect the players, but as you said... it's a violent sport, if you can't hack it, you don't belong.
I do agree with your statement, I can't stand all the stupid penalties for guys leading with there helmet even if they clearly do not mean to. You are running as fast as you can trying to hit someone as hard as you can with 20+ other guys falling all around you trying to do the same thing, you can't control everything that happens. And you know the refs are calling everything that even looks like leading with the helmet or is a very slightly late hit because they want to make it clear to the players that this is not acceptable.
Now the difference between playing hard, hitting hard, trying to make a play and what Suh did was that the play was OVER. He wasn't trying to take someone down who had the ball or block anyone, the whistle blew long before he finished shoving his head into the ground and even longer before he stomped him. It was a stupid move on his part and no positives came from it for his team. As stated before he is young and will most likely learn to control his emotions so that he can use them to make plays and not to lose games.
I still say Michael Jordan should get the MVP.....
hiding because they arent undefeated
The best way to beat either the Aint's or the Packers is to have an exceptional running game, and pound it down their throats. Doing that keeps Brees/Rodgers on the sideline. You'll also probably need the ball to bounce your way instead of theirs at least once in the game, and you can't turn the ball over to them.........at all.
Well our season starting running back is on IR, our backup has a brain tumor, and our third string is mediocre at best. So we bring in our running back off the waivers and he blows up and has a huge game against Carolina... (I know, bum run defense) and is starting to do good against GB but then got injured.... So our running game has gone to shit.
those games are won at the line of scrimmage......Saints and GB alike. They have good O-lines which give Brees and Rodgers time to pick apart your secondary. You gotta get pressure on those 2 guys. If/when the Saints meet up with GB I think you'll see Greg Williams do some off the wall shit to get to Rodgers. Watching how Williams does D's is amazing.....the Saints D doesn't suck because of him I can promise you that. They actually play well above their talent level and that's all because of Williams' and his schemes. Example.....they played a base 3-4 Monday.....I don't think they've done that all year.
He's busy posting poll threads.
Our O line is not that great, they have had injuries and have missed many blocks. Luckly Rodgers is the best QB throwing on the run, out of the pocket and he is pretty good at running the ball as well. Rodgers also gets the ball out of his hand very quickly on many plays, rarely during a game does he have all day to sit there and throw the ball.
A good reason that we do not have a running game is because the O line can't open holes or move the D-line back.
I would have to say so. Tebow is probably the number 2 or 3 QB in the league:ughlaugh:
