    Ben Stiller movie.

    Question Koni Lower perch location?

i bought a set of used koni's and don't know if they were set lower or standard ... how does one do/undo that? I want mine to be "unlowered" as i have Prokit springs on my car allready

the perch should be on your car as it sits not on the koni's

You should be able to see both perch locations Jay.

Turn your wheels and take a look, but since you have lowering springs they are not set on the lower perch.

    At least they should'nt...

ahh the lower perch is located in the shock that is why you can only do this with koni SA shocks.

You cannot really see it in this picture:

But no one uses the lower perch unless they are using stock springs and are trying to lower the car (get about 3/4")

Just run your hand under the perch and you will feel the ridge used for the lower perch location. If you don't that means the previous owner used the lower one.

But I seen your pictures and it is not THAT low...

That is PB blaster over spray used to soak the bolts over night prior to taking on any bolt in the under carriage. They are a bitch to break loose esp. fasteners under the car!!!

Soak them for at least 24 hours (more if you can) prior to tackling the install Joe.

I plan on installing a set of Koni's and Strano springs by spring time, thanks for the heads up on letting them soak...my car is a garage queen that has never seen rain or driven on salted or sanded roads so hopefully it will go pretty well. Nice set up by the way, I'm liking the braided brake line too

the perch is that plate that holds the spring.
Under it is a C-clip in a small indented spot on the shock.
There are 2 of those indented spots that accepts the C-clip... hence having 2 perch locations

I just got the Koni double adjustable shocks for the front. All I have is one C-clip. Are the single adjustables the only ones w/ 2 perch locations?
