black- 1999 ws6 trans-am
I hope this never happens to any of you.
So I have tried to stay opptamistic but here goes the story. Moved to florida 2.5 years ago with my bone stock 99 trans-am that I bought as a welcome home preasent to myself after comming back from iraq. Got stationed in florida and decided to mod my ride. This car was my baby always wanted one since i was 15. well I decided to go with a heads and cam package. Took it to a guy named chris harwood in blounstown florida. he put the heads and cam in the replaced a few rods and pistons. the job only took him about 8 months. He said it would be two weeks. Had to take the car back several times and each time soemthing else was wrong. finaly got the car running and less then 500 miles later the engine blew. So I had him come get it. big mistake. I decided to go with a 408 I bought all the parts from tsp. and gave them to chris harwood of extreme motorsports again. two years later now after claiming numerious times the car was about done. he has yet to fox my can and can no longer produce the parts I gave him. heads, cam crank everything for a new engine. he said he was having late model engine in texas build the engine and they claimed they had all the parts so I payed them for the building cost to find out they didint really have all the parts from chris, so now almost 3 years later my baby is without an engine all the parts I could have sold from the old engine are ruined because chris let it sit out in the rain. and I am out about 15k with all the parts for both engines. stay away from chris harwood of extreme motorsports now sports car plus.

If a lawyer doesnt work out I think a good old fashioned ass kicking should help things along, or atleast make you feel better..... I know it always makes me feel better

Sorry to hear...
Not sure about Florida, but verbal contracts are generally enforceable. I assume you have cancelled checks or credit card receipts for what you have paid him. Type up a synposis of the transaction between you guys, including a timeline with dates (as best you can remember) and give that to the attorney so he has the whole story. Any statements the douchebag made to you about the work, cost, time to complete, etc. should be admissable if it ever gets to court. This includes any receipts, paperwork, or writings he prepared. I always hate seeing fellow car guys get screwed when they try to get work done.

Now that's a little scary
Sorry to hear it. It is possible this was a great shop at one time or another. I've seen so many of them close up in the last year or so that it's really not surprising to see a shop recommended by so many turn to dirty deals like this.
People do dirty things when they have bills to pay and they are at their wits end. What's worse is they usually start up another shop under another name and do it all over again. This economy has brought out the worst in people.
