Pontiac is dead

IMO, Lutz killed this brand by allowing the F-body to die, and bringing in ugly-ass Holden cars to try and power Pontiac back up. The strategy clearly failed, as the GTO was short lived, and a shitty seller.
Perhaps the G8 also faced stiff competition from the Dodge Charger? I don't know, I liked that one, but its going the way of the Dodo as well.

i really don't think that lutz failed pontiac. i think that what he did for pontiac was bring the excitement back into the brand with the gto and the g8 after the higher ups killed off the f-body. after all...we are talking about the guy that fought the rest of them to have the manaro brought over.
at any rate i think that offering 3 cars in the pontiac lineup and merging gmc and chevy trucks together (gmc trucks as the higher end chevy trucks as an option package)...i dunno...to me that seems to make more sense.
get rid of the 2nd truck brand and keep pontiac as a niche program until times get better and they could have done well with it. but...what do i know.

thank god.... i'm glad they won't be making some retarded looking retro firebird to copy what ford brought back... or a (no offense to gto owners) grand prix with a v8 and gto badges... hopefully they will come back with a better design/conception department and people with a brain out side of thier ass holes to approve shit that the general public would like to drive and see on the roads...

Poor Old Nagger Thinks Its A Cadillac.
I've owned three pontiacs; 84 firebird, 88 Fiero, 87 Trans Am GTA (great car)
and I would own a G8 with a ls3.
This sucks for Pontiac and GM, but something must be done. The worst thing to happen was the government bailout. they should have let gm file backruptcy, and abolish the labor laws. While dropping GMC which is just a clone of Chevrolet.
