Turbos
Would it be feasible to put two Garret 42mm turbos on my car? My motor can handle it, I just am wondering if they are big enough to make any kind of power. Im buying them for 300$ with the intercooler included. My car is a 98 T/A WS6 A4

42 mm turbos aren't really that big and if the exhaust trim isn't big enough it'll choke the engine

i don't think they are large enough, if you were to put the turbos on you would have no need for your lt's plus you would have to do alot of work to set that up in your car, unless you can fab your own piping??
but yeah i say too small

Thanks guys. The guy I was going to buy them from had them on a 5.0 mustang and I am not too familiar with turbos. 300$ sounded like a good price though.

if you have a stock cube motor twin 42's would work but you wouldn't get insane horsepower. But for $300 and a little work it wouldn't be too bad for say 500hp.....and if you want to go turbo you're going to have to get rid of those long tubes...get yourself some manifolds....works better for the turbo....

Too small.
Need twin "super 60's" at least and really those are bare bones.

I guess it's not worth the trouble for the small HP gain from the turbos. I am kinda undecided waht I want to do with the car. I was thinking about forced induction since I now have a GTO for a daily driver and can leave the bird in the shop for an extended amount of time, but I am also kinda thinking about maybe a stroker motor.

yea turbos are the most labor intensive install thats for sure, but the power and the sound they make are worth it if you ask me. I have a single turbo on my camaro and am puting down 700 rwhp hp. It fun for sure.

my mods list goes on forever. I just put in a fabed 9" rearend with a detroit tru trac cause the 10 bolt does not last long at those power levels. I got a stange chromoly driveshaft and all the rear suspension pieces. My t56 is built up and cryogen treated to handle the power and I needed a twin disk clutch to hold the power. My shortblock had to be forged also to handle the power. Its not cheap and the best way to do it if your serious is the build the chassis and drivetrain first and do the turbo and motor last.

That's what I was thinking. I already have a bulletproof rear end in the car. I just need a transmission that will handle the power I want. I want to at least break into the tens(my best ET now is 11.97 @113 on a REALLY cold day) I have an A4 car though and I know I am going to have to do extensive work to the tranny to deal with the power I want. I just had it rebuilt 3000 miles ago due to losing 3rd gear. Right now it has a 3000 stall and reinforced internals, I just dont know how they will hold up if I do more to the car. I really want a turbo though. I love the way they sound.
