rusty headers
What are my options here? can these be painted or wrapped? Or are they doomed to rust through and fail?

383 w/Meth & ProCharger- 2001 Camaro Z28
Take 'em off and have them jet coated. Eventually they'll rust through the way they are.

Holy hell, you could just pony up and buy some Kooks. Thats some good quality stainless right there.

You could take em off and send em out to be coated but they'll rust again. I say if you're gonna pull em off get some new ones. (preferably stainless)

you could always wrap them with header wrap, to save money, personally i think 900 bucks for a pair of stainless is a bit much for shiny headers. it will take YEARS and YEARS for them to rust through thats just surface rust.

$900? I'd try these for $500. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=984077

Pony up for stainless, then the job is done forever. Factor the $$$ value of your wasted time and stainless is a pretty good deal

if you drive it in the rain and snow defanitly stanless if its just a fun car you can get some pacesetters or just rap them. that would help with under hood temp to. like zboner sead its just surface rust it will take a long time to rust out.
