Black- 02 Z28
Farewell my friends!
Well, after six of the most glorious months of my life, six months with my beloved '02 Z28, I have sold her.
I carmaxed her friday, really no reason to hold on to her any longer, its not like I can drive her any more. I am enlisting in the U.S. Army, active duty. Which means that my car would sit in the garage for years at a time; and I just couldn't do that to her. She deserves to be driven, hard, by someone who will give her the rough treatment she craves.
I guess when I get back (some time in the middle of 2010) I can pick up the new 'maro, or try to make CamaroDMD an offer he can't refuse on his super-sweet '02 35th LE.
Until then I'll be on this forum sporatically (I've noticed some members are overseas serving) to check up on the latest concerning 21st century pony cars.

Good luck in the Military, did it for 4 years myself. Bought my car when I was in and DD for 2 years before going overseas. Stored it at the parents and still have it to this day. We all appreciate your service

Hate to see you part with the car, but you will see things most people only read about, and see in pictures.
Good Luck

Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for serving this Great Country we call home. It is because of brave Soldiers like yourself that we enjoy the Freedoms that we have.
Recently we just sold our own Camaro, but there was a young man overseas who was enlisted that was very close to purchasing her. Just couldn't get the deposit here on time due to his family dropping the ball I guess. I felt for him, really I did. But in the end, I sent him one last Email to inform him of us selling the Camaro, and to tell him how much I enjoyed getting to know him over the course of the last couple of weeks of daily Emails.
Then I said to him how we are proud of all the brave soldiers such as him, and thanked him for serving our Country.
His response:
"Me Brave? We are but the tip of the arrow, it is the American people that are the force behind that arrow that drives us! Keep us strong"
I will remember that young man and his quote, and hope that you do too.
Best of luck in your Tour and as I told him, there will be a better Camaro just waiting for you upon your return.

I know when I was in Iraq they had a place for me to store my car. Most deployments are a year. I do understand some go beyond that. But I was able to place my car in covered storage on base. The only way to gain access was to have MP's there while getting in and out of storage. They would only let you access your car period. FYI.......

I'm sure she will go to a good home, only someone who can appreciate the car will buy it in this market anyway. As the others have said, thank you again for serving. My mom and dad both grew up in military families. We respect our soldiers.
You'll be back in the cockpit of an F-body when you return. Stay in touch!
