Which Phone?
I am switching over to Verizon, and I can't make up my mind between the LG Voyager or the Dare. Does anyone have either of these two and if so do you like them and which would be better? They are pretty compareable however, I have herd better reviews from the Voyager.
Thanks!!Last edited by Jays00ss; 08-24-2008 at 10:36 AM.

I've got the Voyager. Great phone. I never really looked at the Dare. I saw all the good reviews that the Voyager had received and I could get it for around $50, so that was my choice. The Dare, if I remember, was around $100 more. It wasn't even in consideration; I'm done spending that much on phones.
Oh yeah, Bitpim works with the Voyager too.

i can help with i'm a manager at verizon what are you trying to do with the phones both are good phones but it's what your trying to do with them also how big are you hand if you have fat fingers u'll take the dare because its smaller. I have the voyager and like it but the dare has faster internet and it can play music and text without stopping the music. SO theres lots of little things like i said what are you using it for.

I like the voyager for the keyboard. I just got rid of the glyde because the touch keyboard sucked. While the dare touch is better I still dont like the touch. Any other phones you might choice?

I just got the dare last week, and I gotta say, I abso-fuckin-lutely love this phone. The touch screeen works perfect, the voice commands are bang-on, and it autodetects what way you are holding the phone, so when you need to type something in, just hold the phone on its side and you get the qwerty keyboard automaticly. Battery life is excellent(once its actually fully charged... I have noticed that if you quicky charge it and you only get to 3 or 4 bars, but it doesnt say charging complete, it doesnt last as long as the bars would make you think), it has a full function webbrowser(it takes a little scrolling around to see everything, but with the touch&drag on the screen, its pretty easy), the navigation program is helpful as shit(pipes the voice instructions into a bluetooth headset if you are driving), mobile email works like a charm(just enter the email addy & password and its saves them and you can check as many email accounts as you want)....
Oh, and its got one of the most bad-ass cameras available in a phone currently on the market(its a 3.2MP with autofocus and some actual optical zoom), it takes GREAT videos that can be any length you want(phone comes with like 140mbs of onboard memory, expandable up to 8gigs with a microSD card... and they can be found with a USB adaptor for about 35 bucks)... VCAST works flawlessly on the Dare... the MP3 works well(you can buy them through VCAST or just download them onto the SD card... no direct computer to phone however without the memory card).... Oh, and there is a way to turn your background into a flash game.(I could give you a link that explains how to do it if you buy your phone... but it works because the phone supports .swf files as backgrounds).
Shit... I thats all I can think of off the top of my head... All I can say really is... fucking AWESOME. I love this sucker. If you get this phone, make sure you get the unlimited webaccess however... you will be needing it, since like everything cool it does uses internet access(including the ability to send the pictures off your phone full-size to an online album wirelessly, I forgot to mention that). Also, if you are a texting junkie, this is a great phone for you... the "keyboard" setup works great and the touch-screen is so fucking intuitive I havnt had a single problem with it. Get the Dare. I Dare you.(haaaa ok that sounds retarded)
As for the other phone, I dont really know what that is, but if its the other touch-screen phone that also had the real keyboard, its not as nice as the Dare... I played around with that one for awhile and didn't like it nearly as much, even considering it only cost half the price.

Thanks guys!!
On the 4-5 web sites I have reviewed the Voyager seems to get the better reviews buy a long shot. These are professional reviewers from techy type sites.
I like them both, but my buddy has a voyager and just absolutely loves it. More reviews might swing me the other way. But as far as having the "hard" keyboard on the voyager, that might just make my mind up.

I just bought new phones for me and my daughter. She got the Samsung Glyde and I got the LG ENV 2. I don't like hers cuz of the touch screen. Its a pain, but love mine. The keyboard is perfect for texting. I love all the features on it and how big the numbers are on the front. If I were you, I would go into the store and play with all the phones first and see which ones you like. That is the only way to do it. I was thinking of getting a different phone and a friend of mine got the phone that I was thinking of getting and after playing with it, I am glad that I didn't. Just go play first.

like i said i'm a manager don't get the glyde the touch screen sucks on that phone the voyagers 10 time better then the glyde. the voyager has more issues then the dare but but there both great really its do you want the hard keyboard or touch end of story for the most part. If i was you though i'd go trade the gylde for the voyager or dare.

i'd go with the voyager cuz the dare is only the one touch screen where as the voyager has a keyboard correct?

yep voyager has the actual hard keyboard where the dare is a touch keyboard. however the dare runs off rev a which is the fastest speed it's actually the only phone that runs off this speed for the internet so it's faster then the voyager. Also the dare allows for multitasking so if i'm listening to music and you send me a text it doesn't stop the music as it does on the voyager. The dare also has flash voyager doesn't and the dares got the 3.2 mega pixel camera. Basically the dares a better phone all around but for people that like the hard keyboard not just a touch keyboard you need the voyager.

I have the voyager and larger hands, I really like the keyboard, the html internet browsing is really good if a little slow at times. I have had mine since it came out in October and really haven't had any problems. The 2.0MP camera is not bad for a cell phone, i like the auto focus but it has to be in good lighting.

I re downloaded bitpim and tried it. It automatically pulls up my phone or I can manually set it to several different one. I have transferred 3 .mp3 but they all appear only on bitpim as 0 bytes and you cant see them on the phone. Any ideas what to try.
