The energy drink.

Last week, coming back from Florida, passing through Alabama I found a can in this middle of nowhere shitty gas station I stopped at for a piss. I've never seen it sold anywhere else before (probably due to the FDA hoopla), so I bought one and got around to drinking it today.

I sipped on for 15 minutes or so. The first couple of swallows burned my throat. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but it's probably close to what you expect battery acid to feel like. I'm not sure what the exact flavor is supposed to be, it said no where about a flavor on the can except for "Natural Flavors" under the ingredient list. I guess they were going for a fruity taste, but while you could taste a somewhat fruity taste, the more obvious tastes included spicy, bitter, and bad.

The stinging when away after the first few sips, but then I had a mild headache for awhile. I also noticed if you exhaled when the liquid was in your mouth, you felt a burning sensation in your naval cavity, which wasn't pleasant at all. Halfway through I started feeling very hot, and started sweating as well. Near the end, finished the can, I got a mild stomach ache.

Physical consequences aside, I feel more alert and more energized, more so than that from when I drink a Redbull of the same size. I would hope so though, having three times as much caffeine as a Redbull has.

Overall, it's a pretty shitty beverage to drink. It ranks up there on my list on uncomfortable things to consume. It's pretty much only good as a novelty, I don't think many people will want to drink a second. Although, the three and a half rating as the "Energy level" on the side of the can gave me a good laugh.

FDA HOOPLA? what you have descibed is probably why you havn't seen it sold elsewhere.
