Why did this happen?
Washed my car last night. And when i went to start it the rpms went to about 2,000-2,500 and stayed there! I checked the floor mat and it wasn't close, and i pulled up on the gas pedal. Turned the car off and back on again, and now it runs great, but why would it do it just once? The trans guy that just rebuilt it put in a new throttle positioning sencor. Could that have done it? I'm not too worried about it i just want to get your guys' take on it.~Chris

How long ago was the TPS replaced?
Sounds like the computer was adjusting for something.

That doesn't seem like it would be a problem then.
Wonder if a ground got wet or something while washing. Reset the ECU.

I was refering to something grounding out. If it did, maybe it reset the ECU, hence why it tried to learn idle real quick.
The way to reset the pcm is to first turn the key on (not cranked) then remove the "pcm ign" and "pcm bat" fuses from the fuse boxes located in the engine bay on the drivers side (in front of fender), then turn key off, replace fuses then start her up. Your PCM is now reset. If you had any code showing (SES) before... it should now be gone now.. if it comes back on then you need to have the code scanned so you can pinpoint the problem and correct it. Once corrected you can reset the PCM again to see if you solved the issue. The computer will relearn everything including anything previously programmed such as with LS1edit.

The fuses you will be looking for are under the hood. Driver's side, near the headlight.
It won't hurt anything.
