Speaker Size
This may be on here but i couldn't find it. I am wanting to know what size speaker my '98 Z28 have. In the doors, the back seat, and in the hatch back. So that i can see about upgrading to a better sound system.

The door woofers and sail panel sub-woofers (what a joke) are oversized 6-1/2" speakers. Also called 6-3/4" The hatch area speakers are 4" mids. The only problem you run into is that the woofers are 2ohms rather than the industry standard of 4ohms. Replacing 2ohm speakers with 4ohm speakers results in less power. There are some after-market speakers that are 2ohms but they are hard to find. I think Infinity might be one brand that makes them. Don't bother placing a full range speakers in the rear sail panels. The signal to them is low passed (high are blocked) so the tweeters won't produce any sound. Here's an FAQ with usefull info regarding the factory stereo.
