E-85 My purpose, My questions
Good evening gentlemen, Ill get straight to the point...
Im considering a switch to E-85 for the octane benefit only, I do not care about the loss of mileage, or any of the other issues about E-85, Seems Ive built myself into a corner with my current NA setup, and do not want to de-tune anything just to run pump gas, and do not have access to racce fuel in my driving area. I also dont like spending 4.xx a gallon for fuel that has usually sat so long that it has degraded below 93/91 octane in my area. So E-85 might be my sollution?
What I do care about is the corosiveness of the fuel and what others have done to address this CORRECTLY, not just pouring in the fuel and saying it works.
So my question is "What is needed to correctly convert a 2004 GTO to E-85, What have others done CORRECTLY, or is it even worth it?
Current fuel system mods,
36lb injectors @ 78% DC at w.o.t
Walboro 255lph fuel pump

Have you thought about meth injection? Same benefits but far and away less intrusive and costly.

Yup....One of the sponsors here and I got into it just the other day like two 6 years old in a school yard fight ( I apologize FROST Popsicles are on me
)
Bottom line is this.....
I am the test mule with my new Silverado 5.3L for a Maggie 122H blower and we are going with the meth kit.......there are two things you can do with it...
1. Tune to the ragged edge for power ala N02...
2. Tune for safety/performance utilizing the meth injection for reliability and performance....reliability being no knock retard/detonation.....
It is your answer for a higher octane solution.......
Here is where I am at personally with Allen Nelson as my tuner.......

Snow was top of my list but Nelson made me aware of some "issues" so I give props to Frost...but....We are going with the Labonte kit.....
