Chevy Colorado Z71 4X4...thoughts?
I am looking at purchasing one of these guys, 4x4, with about 46K on it. Dealership is asking 12,995 on it.
Are there any issues or whatnot that I should be aware of with these? I read a bunch of consumer reports and it seemed like kind of mixed reviews with electrical issues and whatnot as well as several owners who love the truck.
It is extended cab with the half/suicide doors, cloth interior, automatic, it says it is a 5-cylinder inline, but I didn't know Chevy/GM did an I5 engine.
Do they handle well shitty weather? Ice? Snow? Off-Roading?
What are some good mods for these guys? Air intakes? Exhaust? Lifts?
The truck looks really nice and I really like the orange paint job on these guys.
Just curious about your input on these trucks.
Thanks in advance.

The 5 is a good engine and with the fender flares the truck looks good. If I was you i'd get a 07+ (small bump in displacement) with a warranty...you might need it.
I test drove a few and all had electrical gremlins...some worse then others. One with only 7k miles continued to blow relays for the DRL...another one with around 30k miles ran like shit and all the power accessories kept not working.

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
I remember reading in the 4X4 mags when they first came out that they had overheating issues too.
Not much aftermarket support for them as far as I know. I've never seen one lifted or anything.

Blue GMC Canyon- trans ams gone now
i drive a canyon with a 4banger and reg cab 2wd. it's a decent truck but to be honest i just dont want it. i cant stand it really. the suspension is crap on it, it gets blown around in the wind like it's gonna fly off the road and the gas mileage should be better but it's not. i just bought mine as a truck to take bumps at where i was workin cuz i had my trans ams. now they're gone and all i have is the truck and i cant stand it. for the money, just look at an older full size. thats what i wish i'd done. and i've had my canyon since it had just 17 miles on it. now its at 42k and the check engine light is always on and off, it wont tell me the code. the u-joints are ready to go out. all i do is drive the flippin thing back and forth to work. not worth it. or get you an older tacoma. just dont buy the colorado/canyon.
