Router setup help ?

Ok I bought a new linksys wrt54g that came new but pre flashed to a wrtg54gs with dd-wrt. I can access the settings. Im getting a wan and lan ip but can not connect to anything. Some of these settings are over my head. I using the neighbors internet to type this. Can anyone point me in the right direction ? Thanks

don't know if this will help. i'm new to wireless. i had to use a cable to download the settings to my laptop then it worked just fine wireless.

I just got it working. Think the problem was I had my network printer plugged in. For some reason I unplugged it and things starting working. Now I plugged it back in, I see the mac address and the hp software says its there but wont finish installing. Freakin technology is a pain in the butt.

When installing a HP printer - just install the driver, all the other stuff they have you install is not needed, to a point, and will make your computer go slow.
