Front Shocks/Coils
I have lowering springs to put on. I took off the driver side and compressed the spring then removed the nut on top. I could not however remove the top afterwards. Is there a trick to this, or will I have to buy new ones?

Make sure that you spring compressor good, then put the nut back on loosely, then tap the nut with a hammer, or you can try to slowly, repeat, slowly let the spring uncompress, and the pressure of the spring will pop the top off. I dont reconmend that if your not completely comfortable with it, as ive never done it myself.

Guess I should've mentioned that I had full spring pressure on it with the nut off and hit it a bunch of times with a hammer and it didn't budge.

It's rusted on. And PLEASE put a spring compressor back on, with at least some tension on it. If that spring would have popped loose, you literally could have lost your head. Only about 1500 pounds of force on a stock spring compressed enough to take it off the car.
Bottom line: You need to forget the whole shock because at this point you'll be cutting something to get it apart (usually the shock shaft itself). The upper mount it junk because it's stuck on. If you cut the old shock you can salvage the lower isolator which you need and if you have shocks that don't come with a spring perch, that too. You need at minimum upper mounts and hardware, and a new shocks.Sam Strano
