Just took mine out for a nice romp through the mountains yesterday. I can't believe after 10 years it still runs and looks better than new. ;-)
However, I hate those stupid Mustangs that tailgate me and cause problems for others trying to keep up with me. Or for that matter, any crazy that is tailgating me and expecting me to do 10-20+ over.
I make sane moves and give lots of room. When those kids in Mustangs try to keep up they make the situation dangerous. Half the time I'm just getting on it a bit. When I start they are no where around ..... Then low and behold up they come at full throttle to challenge right on my bumper. I just slow down and wave them by. I don't encourage street racing.
It was pretty bad yesterday. First a guy in a Mustang tried to squeeze between me and a truck on a merge at full throttle I think. He slammed on his brakes and almost got the rear of me and the rear of himself. Luckly the trucker was watching and slammed on his brakes as well. No where to go half car length in front of me because I saw this coming. Whew.... Then, a guy in a Camary was pushing me 10 over in a construction zone. I mean like 18" off the bumper. So, I slowed down and pulled off the road for him. I never do that but, he was making me really nervous and I envisioned a rear end coming. The last rear end / accident I've had was over 10 years ago now. But, it was such a pain in @$$ to get the car fixed just right. They screwed up other stuff during the process. Doh !!!! No one wins in an accident.
I don't get this in all my cars. But, whenever I'm in a sports car having some fun. Some idiot want to race on the street. I always hope there isn't some cop around taking this as a exhibition of speed contest. I'm just hitting the gas a little for the torque feel and those racer boy types show up. I don't want one of those tickets again.
I'll race at the track anytime .... Safe and sane is the name of the game.
I know there are those that would say: Hey, look at that old guy with that powerful car. Ashame he doesn't know how to drive. I say, there is a place and a time and in traffic your looking for something to hit.
I think bang for the buck, our cars rock !! Can hardly wait to get it into the country and romp on it at times. ;-) Just some thoughts thrown out .......Last edited by Mecinoid; 01-13-2008 at 12:18 AM.

Thanks for sharing! Nobody likes it when a mid-90's Tahoe wants to race you, or the obnoxious Honda who just won't go away. But it's the moments when you literally stop traffic with your exhaust, when you get a thumbs-up from random people, and when you go to the track and get that timeslip you've been waiting so long for!

Navy Blue Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6
I hate when I'm in my '97 Malibu driving around town and I see a ricer or a Mustang trying to be all bad-ass. It's those times that I really miss being in my T/A. Such an amazing car and I love it to death.

SOM- 99 Trans Am
I miss my car so much! It just sits in the garage during these months. But i also feel like when im driving my DD i ALWAYS see cars that id like to run with or even just throw a rev at and when im in the T/A they are no where to be found. There is no better feeling then getting out at the gas station and having some one compliment the car or come talk to you about it.

I can't tell you how proud I am of my Trans Am. Always gets looks from envious people. It's like an extension of my falis. To all my friends and family, they all know me as being all about Trans Am.

Yeah, must have got a lemon or a victim of flood unless you bought it new. Sorry you've had so many problems. Most T/A owners don't have those problems. Try getting another one just to see.

Anymore, a Trans Am or Camaro on the street is like a shark in family resort waters. Ah, it's great to be the shark.
