Aftermarket gauges question

alright well i ordered these guages the other day and they are supposed to be in tuesday... but i wont be home to put them in till friday afternoon... but i was just wondering, somebody told me that the only wires that are on the aftermarket gauges are the power and ground, which i am supposed to splice over into my headlight switch for that... i have no problem with that, but i was just wondering how my lights, such as the check engine light and all that good stuff, are supposed to still work correctly...

when you splice into the headlight switch for your gauges, you arent doing anything to the other systems like for your check engine, ses, brake, or all the others, your just simply putting on a new face plate cover. your not bypassing a circuit or anything. you simply splice into the hot wire in your headlight switch, lay on the new overlays and call it good

oh alright... got ya...i dont know what i was thinkin on this one... i was thinkin that it was all new gauges and not just overlays, even though i knew it was overlays... im spacin it lol
