I'm using Raybetos "Quiet stops"
No noise......low dust like the GM pads.....great stopping power
Got them 2 years ago & paid around $60 to $70 per axle at Pepboys

are you looking for "the best" period or just a good quality pad? When I do brake jobs here at the house for people I will only use Bendix pads. Very good quality pad. Little pricey compared to the L-cheapo's but not outrageous. Just a good quiet pad. Only pads I use on my own vehicles and on the jobs I do. They would'nt be considered the best but they're good enough.
bendix prices
fronts are ~$71 for ceramic and $55 for semimetallic
rears are ~$52 for ceramic and $42 for semimetallicLast edited by 0rion; 01-04-2008 at 10:20 AM.

Horray for employee prices.

I was gonna say hawk too. Ive used em before and they were great. The only downside is you have to order them offline cus ive never heard of a store that carries them..

I"m willingly to pay for good pads that will last a good amount of time. I tend to slam on the brakes often
and I want high quality...you know the best for my safety

I went with Hawk Ceramic pads(havent got em put on yet) but I have read the best alternative to the pricey stock GM pads are the Raybestos.

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
I'm running Performace Friction carbon metallics on my Jeep, I like them. No noise from them, and they perform well.
They were about 40 bucks or so from Autozone, lifetime warrantee.
No idea what pads are on my Formy, but whatever they are, they suck in the rain.

Just put a complete set on my car. They don't seem that much better then what I had on before, but I have not really had to dig into the brakes nor do I want to for a little while longer. On the good side they are available on a few web sites, including Strano's (where I ordered mine).

I have been running Hawk Hps and they have been great for there braking power and how long they have lasted. However I just got a set of Performance friction pads for the front since there due. My hawks have always made a little noise.
