Finally Ready to Jump Ship.
I am now ready to own a Trans Am. After years of saving, researching and comparing... the T/A is the one. I now drive a POS Rustang and I am to say the least... sick of it.
I always liked Camaros and T/A's. Love the LS1... the T/A from what I have seen and heard are almost bulletproof.
I have a few questions for the owners.
I have 3 T/A's that I am deciding on and all are spotless. All stock... with one having stereo mods, and exhaust mods... otherwise stock.
1. 02 Red w/ 46k miles 6M WS6 for $18k
2. 02 Collector's w 58k miles 6M for $17k
3. 02 Red w 44k miles A4 WS6 for $17k
I love stick... but I know the autos shift right on. What do you guys think... auto v stick??
I'm a decent stick driver... not the best... i'm ok.
Gas mileage??? "normal" driving... what are you guys getting. Better MPG on auto or stick??
Sorry If I am asking too many questions since I'm a newbie... but where else am I gonna get this info. I am gonna pick up one of these this week.
Thanks.

Navy Blue Metallic- '02 Trans Am WS6
I'd get the Red M6 WS6. I love my 6-Speed, some people say they don't like manuals due to traffic, I say they have weak legs. The fun you can have with a 6-Speed outweighs any downfall you will ever get from it.

2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
My personal opinion would be to go with the Collector's Edition...Rarity, Manuals are definately more fun to drive (you'll get better with practice), Red gets me pulled over, etc.
The T56 (the manual 6 Speed) is almost bullet proof.
You can get upwards of 25mpg on the highway if you're in 6th and going about the speed limit. But seriously, who buys a muscle car for good gas mileage? :P

Thanks guys... to be honest I am a bit partial to the CETA... it's very rare that I see one. The red is sexy but... the CETA just has that something extra.
What kind of MPG #s are you guys getting??... if you keep track??? lol.

I'm not big on the CETA, the Yellow and Graphics are too much for me.

^^ FL is probably one of the worst places to buy cars... They don't negotiate here... lol.
Thanks for all the responses. I feel welcomed already.
It'll be tough. I heading down to check out the "go ahead and pull me over already" red T/A with the 6M. 60 Mile trip. Not bad... I'll let you know how it goes.

If those were the only options that you found and will go with, then get the collectors edition. Im not so hot for red or yellow cars but for the same price your going to have something thats worth a lot more, keep it in mint condition and low miles and soon its going to be worth twice as much easily. M6 is the best IMO, great tranny, great gas milage and is much better then auto. You will get use to driving it in no time.
