Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Junk.
Stock MAF is good enough for 500 RWHP and more.
SLP's isn't calibrated correctly for our cars. It will add a little HP, but only because it leans you out. In some cases enough to start pinging.2008 Trailblazer SS
Yank PTB3600, Kooks 1 7/8" LT's, 4" intake, E-fans, Magnaflow, Sonnax kit, tranny cooler, tune.

A new MAF requires a tune to work correctly. Between the cost of tuning and the MAF cost, any minimal gains would not be practical unless you're full bolt on with a cam and/or heads. As stated above, the general rule of thumb is that the stocker is good for up to 500HP.

Well I would agree and disagree. I have a tune and was running a stocker. About 6 months ago I switched to the Slp. I have no complaints. Was runnig a bit rich anyway(you could smell it) so it was good for me. I didnt feel a huge difference but the response is a bit better. Just my two sense. I think it depends on the mods you have etc, I think its worth it, but I agree that you would need a tune. If you are running mostly stock parts you def dont need it.

Port the stocker and get a tune.

Are you talking about running rich at WOT, cause your fuel trims will bring you to stoich at part throttle.
Either way you will have to tune for the maf to keep your trims inline

Whoever had my TA before I bougth it removed the screen of the MAF. I did consider buying a new one but.... I decided just to clean the one I had.
I'm glade I saved $200. I got all the HP I could expect from just general cleaning.
just my .02

RED 35TH ANIVERSARY PKG- 2002 CAMARO SS 35th LE
I don't know what everbody's deal is with the SLP Mass senor.. I installed the senor and haven't had anyproblems with it.. It never threw a code like some people say. All I have is SLP CAI and the Mass.. I put down 350TQ and 340 HP at the wheels.. It may have lean me out a little.. and if it does lean you out its not a bad thing as long as your no in the 15:1 range.. The factory tune already runs your car rich anywayz.. Maybe its just depens on where you live and the weather conditions.. also altitude also play a factor..

I also have a SLP maf and have no problems with it what so ever. I bought it because my stocker was fudged up making be run very rich. It gave me a big gain just from fixing the proble 13.5 to 13.0s then 12.7s with better tires. I even sprayed a couple of bottle through the motor with a dry shot and never had it knock.
12.8:1 is the ideal A/F radio for a N/A car. If it got up that high it would start to lean pop.and if it does lean you out its not a bad thing as long as your no in the 15:1 range
Porting the stocker is the same as using the bigger LS6 maf. Its going to lean your motor out because your getting more air than the stock tune knows about.Port the stocker and get a tune
