Obd Code P0430

I will try to make this post as short and descriptive as possible. This code appeared about 5 months ago which tells me either right side cat or O2 senser. It only occurs on long trips around 200 miles non stop. I swapped the aft O2 sensers for troubleshooting to see if the code popped up on the other bank. No reoccurances until today then the code has come back again. This car has made the same 200 mile trip monthly for the past 5 months with no engine light. Would you guys agree I need to replace the cat? What I cant figure is why after such a long period that I havent had a problem until now. It"s an 01 formula LS1.

The emission warranty goes to 8 yrs/85K miles I think. If you under... take it to the dealership and have the cat replaced for free.

I've had both of my cats replaced for free.

I have the same code in my car that just came up. I also have a dang code for my bank sensors. Has anyone had any luck with the tr6 plugs. I havent put 100 miles on my car and this is my second set of plugs and one of them is burnt now. WTF?

I keep reading about this cat warranty and every one says the same 8yrs/85k.. both my cats compleatly disentagraded sp. around 41k all stock even the paper air filter and 2 of my dealer ships told me it was bs and had to buy my own set of cats...

The 8yr/80K was the federal emissions warranty, at least it was in the info I got with my car in '01. GM extended the F-body LS1 cat warranty by letter on the '00-'02 cars to 10yrs/120K last December.

rshooch - If you still have the paperwork I'd call the GM 1-800 number and ask them if you can be reimbursed, they did it for people that had already paid for replacement on the 00-02 cars.
