Ws6????
this might sound stupid but here it goes. i understand that for camaro's SS means supersport, and RS ralleysport. My question is what does WS6 stand for i know it means the package with uograded suspension and wheels, hood etc, etc... but what the WS6 stand for? whats the W mean The S and the 6. might sound stupid but i was just wondering.

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
WS6 is just and RPO as stated above.
It was originally from 1978 for the optional Suspension and larger wheels (15x8 vs 15x7) in 1979 4 wheels disc brakes became part of the package.
It was reintroduced in `96 as a Performance package for the Formula and Trans Am.
WS9 is called the Formula Conversion Package But all it really means is that the car is equipped with a V8.
W66 (Formula) and Y82 (Trans Am) have to be present to indicate what Model the Car is.Craig

I heard one of the Z24, or Z27 was like the designer walked 27 steps to the exec's desk, and then it became that... some myth of some sort.

WS6 was an option whereby the Pontiac plant in Canada sent a regular Trans Am over to a different company called ASC.There, eight guys convered 45-50 T/A's a day by removing hood and air filter lid and bolting on new hood and ram air box.Pontiac thought they couldn't paint the hood correctly in their plant according to an old article in Pontiac magazine.

09 EclipseGT 75 Chevy 4x4- 2001 Trans-Am 13 F-XT
It used to mean Wild Sexy 6-speed, but then the wimps complained and they had to make auto versions and now it doesn't mean anything other than an RPO code.
