Sebring Silver Metalic- 2002 Camaro Z28
Shelby Camaro, is this right?
I didn't know where to ask this, so hopefully this is a good spot. My brother claims there is a 72 Shelby Camaro SS 454 for sale where he lives.
First off I didn't think Shelby did work with GM at that time. I thought it was just Ford in the old days. Not only that but was there a 454 SS package offered?
The owner claims all original. I have been searching the net and nothing so far. Oh and if it is real the kicker is the guy only wants 17.5k for it. My brother said it may be because he is deploying and can't afford to keep it, who knows.
thanks

shelby did not do work with GM, maybe he's mistaken for one of the COPO production cars (yenko, nikki...)

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Except for dealer installs (Joel Rosen and Motion Performance come to mind) NO Camaro was ever produced by the factory with a 454. In 72 the last of the BBC SS Camaros was produced with a 396 (402 really).
The car maybe a real SS and it may have a 454 (easy to swap) but it's not a 454 SS. In 72 only Monte Carlo's, Chevelle's and El Camino's were 454 SS's (although other cars had 454's too). And it's especially NOT a Shelby Camaro as has been stated above.
If it's a real SS 396 Camaro and in really good condition it may very well be worth what he's asking even without the original engine.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 10-21-2007 at 02:49 AM.

thanks to all, that's what i thought. I'm not a camaro expert but i new that sounded funny when i heard it.
I've heard of the famous yenko camaros, but like you guys said never shelby. I'll ask my bro if the guy meant Yenko or one of the other COPO cars.
thanks, that explains the 17.5k price tag, and I doubt it is a real COPO of any kind.

i thought that artic wite and blue firebird from ebay was, um, different. That is different. Thanks for the ebay link. I love looking at what other people think is "special."
Mistery solved, it is a Chevelle not a Camaro, and it is not a Shelby, obviously. You know for someone to drop over 23k in performance, interior, paint, etc on a 99 Silverado. You would think my brother was a car enthusist, wrong, lol...
Now I can sleep at night, ahhhh.
