Mystic Teal Metallic- 2001 Trans Am
older bird
I own an 01' Trans Am and I know this is LS1.com This is a great web site with a wealth of info. My question is about a 94 bird. I hope someone will read this and know the answer to my question. I have the factory cassette am/fm radio in the car and want to install a power antenna. The one I bought was a name brand and not cheap. It has 3 wires to connect, two of which are no brainers, a ground and a constant fused hot wire. The third wire(blue) goes to the power antenna wire in the radio wiring harness if it has one. It does not. The other choice to connect is to take the radio apart and soldier it to the cold side of the on/off knob. This ain't happening. I was wondering if the RAP (yellow) wire would work. I guess I could try it but don't want to take a chance of burning something up.

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
you could do that. the only problem is that whenever the car is on accessory the antenna will be up. hopefully you dont go to the car wash. you could also wire in a switch so you could put up the antenna when you want.
