I wouldn't waste my time/money on the Weiand intake. If you found a good deal on a Fast, I would pursue it.

Weiand makes a prettier manifold, but it'll need porting to flow the same numbers as a stock FAST. If you're into show though, and you're going with a mild setup, a fast could be more than you need...

deffinetly not it for show. all about the go, ya i notived the weind is aluminum, which also transfers heat better then the composite ones, which is not so good for keeping your intake charge as cool as possible. well thanks guys

unless you plan on camming the car and such, the fast really isnt worth the price unless your getting a really good deal.

well i'm in the middle of buying a 99 z28 with all sorts of SLP bolt on shit, and that weind intake is one of them. so hopfully tomorrow i'll be driving around in my new Z. but my friend has a fast intake cause he went with a blower, so i could get my hands on one, but i'll probly leave the weind on, cause its definetly getting a cam and sum headers once i save up sum more bucks. I guess the plus side of the aluminum intakes are you can port match them to the heads.

I think you got that backwards the composite will transfer/disipate the heat better than the aluminum. There are no facts that say one transfers heat better than the other but it seems to be a good majority like the composite over the aluminum. The fast is the clear choice for an intake if you have the money. As others stated it only worth it if you plan on some heavy mods like a cam and heads. If your just doing bolt ons its kinda a waste of money.

well when i say transfer heat better. i mean that in a bad way for your intake charge. the composite won't transfer the heat to the trottlebody, as much as an aluminum will. thats why they went composite from the factory. hold a torch to one end of an aluminum rod, and hold the other end and see how long it takes to get hot(not long at all) now do it on a plastic rod(it will melt b4 the other side ever gets hot. Trust me. i would rather have a composite

sure the metal will heat up, but the air going threw isnt even in the manifold for a second.

    Air In.....Air Out

If the engine work has progressed to the point the LS6 will no longer support the mods, that will certainly be the case.

just a basic H/C car. 224 cam and patriot heads. went from the Ls1 to the Ls6, and it didnt seem like it was all there. that's why i went FAST...

remarkable because alot of people run H/C cars w/the Ls6 intake and are happy w/it...
