c6 zo6 brakes on a c5
just wondering if anyone has done it on here, what did it cost and what problems did you have. I really want to do this upgrade just bought a set of 18" front rims and 19" rears for this mod. I see you can get all calipers rotors and pads on ebay for 1500$ but they are making a profit and im pinching pennies let me know!

I havent done it yet but you can get the package from L.A.P.D for about $1700. The problem is getting the calipers to fit the wheels. The rears should be fine but the front will depend on what your backspacing is. You have to have at least an 18" wheel, which you said you did, that will clear the inside of the wheel but getting the caliper to clear the spokes is the problem. Here are the size wheels Im getting with the backspacing that will clear the C6 Z06 brakes.
front 18x9.5 @ 53mm offset
rear 19x11 @ 63mm offset

what about mounting the caliper? is there some sort of special bracket or by some luck do they actuall use the c5 mounting spot for the bridge. also i just bougth the rims on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...155261737&rd=1
offset = 50 let me know what you think. oh and 1700 is even higher than i wanted them they r cheaper on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...spagenameZWDVW and ive seen even cheaper around 1400 for all calipers rotors and pads

The kit should come with the new brakets and they should bolt up in the same spot as the C5 brakets. You also need stainless steel brake lines, the OEM rubber lines will not work with that kit. Im not sure if that offset will work or not. You should post this on the Corvette Forum, you will get more info. on there. There are several people on there that have done this to their C5 already.

It is a easy upgrade. Just because you have 18/19's doesn't mean they will fit. Make certain your wheels have the proper off set.

Sorry, I can't help you with that. I have HRE Lingenfelter signature wheels.
http://www.lingenfelter.com/store/lpehress.html
My rear wheels are either 19x12.5 or 19x13. And I forget what my front ones are but I will try to look it up this weekend. The front ones are pretty close.
I had them wheels sized for big brakes when I bought them. Maybe the company you bought your wheels from would know???Last edited by Little Blue Vette; 09-15-2007 at 05:20 AM.
