I hate all my friends
Not really, I'm just jealous they all just got bikes or are gettin one soon. I've wanted one for about 4 years but I got my car instead. I will have one soon enough(the begining of the year hopefully) but its just not soon enough when everyone around you is getting theres. Please spare me the lecture about how dangerous the are. I have riden before and I took the motorcylcle training class. I take my dads bike on a regular basis just to ride but its not mine to take whenever I want, and its not that cool of a bike its a honda st1300.

What luck! I will probably have to sell mine next spring same time you will be looking to buy. I will be finishing grad school and starting a career somewhere far away from here. I would take it with me but I kinda want a freash start. Plus I'm starting the save for a new Camaro or T/A if there are made.
How does a Yami R1 sound? Its an '05 Raven (special edition black with silver metallic flakes) with a lot of tasty red highlights like stainless steel braided brake lines, Pazzo racing levers (with brembo brake kit), and a bunch of other stuff. I'll tell you about it if your interested.

It is not the Bike that is dangerous, it is the idiots in the cages.
Riding smart is a key as well, I am still working on that part.
I will never be without a bike again, I love riding.

That is a very true statement. The only time I do not ride my bike is when it is either pouring down rain, or it is just to damn cold to ride. I started riding late in life, I bought my first one last summer and couldn't be happier when I am alone on my bike with no one bothering me.
I think that if you ride a bike and ride responsibly, you are even more cautious in your car and pay more attention. Before buying my bike I was the type of person that never really paid that much attention to what was around me, but now I notice alot more than I used to .

Dude, I can understand that!
I can remember when all of my friends spent 5-6K on 4 wheelers. Then they spent 1-2K modding them. And guess what, they got tired of em and don't ride em anymore!
So, now I ride them and I don't feel left out cause I didn't waste my money!

I hear you man. I try not to buy stuff but its hard like right now I need a new clutch and slave plus I still owe the body shop $200 so right there is about $750 that I could put away or use to pay off my car. Plus i'm looking to get into a house with my brother so I can't dig into the money that I do have saved. My goal is by the begining of the year when my car is payed off and I will have alittle saved for a down payment on a used bike. I've been putting off steping up at work for awhile now as I was't sure if I wanted to move up but I have recently decided its time to move up and start making some money. Wanting a bike is only going to push me more to get promoted.

mu ex used to get pissed about the same stuff - in the end he ended up with a harley, a street and trial and a quad. you'll get it. oh and his friends still had the same old bikes. he ended up being the one with all the toys and the house, and mostly everything -(until he threw it away ,lol that's another story) - take your time.

Don't get married to the WRONG person... Take your time.. I waited til I was 32.. been near ten years with her now.. Hell, she BOUGHT my SS for me. Wife makes 29k a year More then I do. <shrug> And I make a good living.. I think ( about 50 k a year )
If I did it again, I would marry her in a heartbeat.. NOTHING beats having someone at your side/back that you can absolutely TRUST.. Nothing.

I have a good buddy with 3 bikes. 1 is a Kawasaki ZX-10R, 2007 special edition w/ extended swing arm and power commander. He has a drag bike in the making, an 04-05 (?) ZX-10R, 18" black swingarm, lowered, shooting go-fast juice, weight reduction, air shifter, I can't remember what else. Fastest 1000 I've ever seen, and it wasn't on the bottle then. He has a GSX-R 1300 Hayabusa, burgandy. Lowered and a power commander for right now. He works selling bikes and stuff, so he gets to play with his toys at work.
Another buddy has an 05 Yamaha R6 with exhaust and power commander, and lowered.
