Refill your nitrous bottle
When it comes time to refill your bottles, do you vent all the left over gas out first or just get it fill up without purging?
I heard to school of thought here. First I was told not to vent the left over gas out because you have a chance of get mosture in the bottle. ( at the same time the bottle comes complete empty when you get the kit) The other is to vent it out so you get complete fill when you recharge the bottle.
Normally I have 2 or 3 lbs still in the bottle but the pressure just isnt there to get the same hit. I was thinking about just vent the left over out, what are you guys thoughts?Last edited by Soltakr; 07-30-2007 at 03:41 PM. Reason: edit

I have always emptied mine. I was told that they cant fill a bottle that has nitrous in it anyways.. Maybe it is just that particular refill station that they own but that is the information I have gotten in 2 different staes by 3 different shops.

The two places I've ever taken my bottle to vent it off before they fill it anyways. So I let them vent it off there so the bottle is nice and cold when they fill it up again

they CAN refill it without it being empty. i use to do this all the time. it would still have a couple pounds in it, and they would just add to that. if its ease of mind ur wanting though, just vent it, and go totally fresh.

been filling half bottles for years, after 3 runs i get my bottle filled most of the time it's 5 pounds or less to fill, at $3.00 a pound it cost me $15.00 for a full bottle
anyone telling you that you must empty the bottle before a refill is stealing from you, they make more $$$ that wayLast edited by quick777; 08-06-2007 at 01:37 PM.

Where do you go to fill the bottle? There aren't many places around me that will do partial fills, but the one that I have found has me as a customer.

The Hot Rod Shop in Carpentersville, or another shop in Rockford that I can't remember the name of at the moment...

i fill ALOT of nitrous and we CAN fill it if it has 8#'s or 2#'s.....we just have to freeze it alot longer if its got a larger amount of N20 in it....but can totally but done, i can tell you exactly how much you have in it with our scale...some customers fear "air pockets" and ask us to purge but we only do it by request
but whoever tells you they HAVE TO empty it is totally full of shit and trying to make an extra buck
