gm's warranty is transferable. dodge's warranty isnt. but it is pretty cool that they are doing that. it will make people want to keep their cars for longer and keep buying them.

now would be the time to buy a dodge that qualifies for that particular warranty.

Does 'powertrain' cover the tranny?? If so...they are fucked.

Yeah, they'll have bigtime monitoring of tranny fluid/filter change intervals and crap needing to be documented and whatnot probably in order for the warrany to follow through :-x

How many people are gonna look at that though? Most sheeple will just see the "lifetime" part and jump in feet first. That's why you see so many Kia's and Hundai's on the road. Me and my bro just had a similar discussion ( well, not really but close) the other day. He's wanting something that gets better gasmileage. He's in a Ram 1500 right now getting ~16 mpg. He said he even looked at a Honda...something vtec or something that he said looked "sporty". I laughed. He's like 6'2" and 260 lbs. I pointed that out to him and also pointed out that a car is something you spend a considerable amount of time in. I drive almost an hour each way to work everyday. I'll pay the extra gas money to not be riding in a piece of shit econobox. I own 4 vehicles, 3 of them are V-8's. I'll pay the extra money to enjoy what I drive. People will buy these Dodge's because of the warranty and then find out it's a piece of shit Mopar and be stuck with it and then the warranty won't even transfer. Good marketing, stupid consumers.

Sebring Silver- 2000 CamaroSS
Agreed that it's great marketing
A "Lifetime" warranty is good for the "Lifetime" of the product.....it has nothing to do with a consumer's lifetime
If it's determined the "Lifetime" of the product is 7 years, ( as in appliances ) & the factory warranty is 10, it may be good for the factory

they'll probably put some BS thing in instructions like "you have to check oil engine level and transmission oil level every time you put gas" and then just blame users

Doubt it will be that easy...I mean how many of you have taken your car in for warranty work only to find out that little bolt attached to whatever broke is not covered so now that part is not covered.
The fine print will probably be worse than at willy wonkas factory.

dont be struck by the word 'lifetime' ..Most people dont kep a car/truck over 3 years and even less over 5 ...... So its not really saying that much ....
