Stupid Car Wash! Fu*ked Rims
okay this would be the second time this has happened to me at a car wash, the last time was my old camaro and my torqe thrust 2 rims this time was my 99 ss with my new 18" inch polished alum zo6 wheels!
The dumb ass guys sprayed chrome cleaner or degreaser or something on them when they were hot! even though the first thing i say when i pulled up is my wheels are polished aluminum! well needless to say 3 hours later after the owner pulled up and started polishing with the workers my rims were less than satifying still some risidual Etching!
i freaked out and the owner is hiring a professional guy to fix them this wednesday! so hopeuflly they get taken care of, but it sucks this whole weekend all i could think about was my wheels, and my girlfriend loved that!lol
anybody else had this happen to them?
and how much does a shop charge to polish up these things,
and how do i know if this "professional" isnt gonnna remove my clear coat on the wheels?
help please

soooo, what's the outcome then? I'm very surprised to hear that the owner is really living up to this much satisfaction and not saying "sorry, good bye"

I've seen it happen....rims look like milk has been poured on them and then dried right? Just tell people no chemicals on my rims please..then go inside and tell the owner the samething.

I will never take my car to a detail shop. period. its of much more value to take the time and learn how the pros do it. been saving myself sacks of cash plus having fun doing it.
