Hurst T-handle?
I have the factory hurst shifter with the round leather knob, and would like to go old-school and put a hurst T-handle on it. How do i remove the leather one? Ive tried to twist it, and to push down and twist it, however...I dont want to do it too hard because Im afraid of breaking it. Any advice would be very useful!

yup. But if i were you I wouldnt suggest the T handle for a manual car. My 93 had one on it when I bought it for a beater and it felt terrible. I dont mind them on autos but the dont feel right on manuals. Not to mention the get hot as hell in the summer time and really cold in the winter.

I'd like to see or hear about this too. I'm looking for a Z now, and if I end up with an A4, I'd have to do this mod. I hate the factory shifter with the button on top, every other automatic car I've ever owned (that wasn't column shift) had a T-handle shifter. I don't think I could get used to not having it.

the t handle is good, just takes some getting used to.

I think the botton on top is kind of ugly, I want to swap out with the trans am shifter. Would that be hard to do? I rather have a t-handle. BTW this is for an A4

I like the T-Handle mod as well but only for the A4's. For the M6s I prefer the round ball cause for me it has the best grip and the hardist shifts.

i have a pro 5.0 in with a pistol grip on top. man you talk about good grip..you grab onto that thing and power shift as hard as you want and not have to worry about snappin anything in the shifter. the pistol grip feels and just looks awesome.

i never liked a t handle till i tried it and i love it and will never go back, it doesn't get hot with the t-tops off or anything, i shortened the shifter as well
its got a way better feel then a round shifter
