painted grill, overlays, and inserts let me know what you think.
I painted my grill chrome, added trans am overlays on the side, and put pontiac inserts in the rear.

not to bad looking. But take it from someone that painted theres also, dont spray the vents with one of those automatic or manual car washers, you know the ones that you drive into and you can wash your car with the pressure washer, anyway it will take the paint right off them!

since you asked:
color: silver is just grey with metal flecking it it. unfortunatly it wont have the brilliant, reflective quality of metal or acrylic. however, against the black, that shit is SHINEY!
hey, here's an idea-just to protect the enamel paint [i assume it's about the same durability of modeling paint] Buy a can of automotive clear coat and hit them with that a few times. Infact, they make a clearcoat with a metallic finish to it, which might add to the reflection. Only costs about 12$ at auto zone.
a/c vent removal: they are easilly removed and replaced with the use of a needle-nosed pliar. Gently snag a "hex" near the center and pull-or use 2 pliars at once and pull from the cornes with equal force to distribute the force. They'll come out and go back in like legos

Do you have pics of the side vents? I was thinking about doing mine, but want to be sure it doesn't chip away and look trashy. Hows it holding?

Good way to prevent chipping and flaking(if you're not in the mood to put 50 coats of clear over them)
If you've ever used the fiberglass - resin and hardner.. you can dip them however you need to be able to cool them very specifically or they'll warp from the heat generated by the chemical reaction...
I'm not saying use sheets of fiberglass.. just the "stuff" you wet the sheets with. Tough tough process but lasts forever if you can keep em cool enough to prevent warping.

I painted mine once but they didn't last looking good for too long. I ended getting stainless steel inserts for the ram air grills and the side vents.

Thats probably what I will end up having to do. But I really like the look with the Honey Comb Vents painted chrome. I hope it will hold.

Where can you get the stainless steel inserts? Is that what spinnerdesigns sells?
