F'ing water spots!!!!!
washed the car outside today, partly cloudy and warm. Shamoied the whole car and I guess some areas spotted while I was doing the tires...well, i waxed over them thinking the wax would take them off AND THEY'RE STILL THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wash again. Or try some white vinegar. Mix some white vinegar with water, and use a towel to remove. If the spots are bad, you may have to warm up a soaked towel with the vinegar mix a set it on the water marks for 5 minutes or so
As it was suggested above, try a QD and see if they come out
Edit: I meant 5 minutes, NOT 58 minutesLast edited by Z06-Goose; 07-07-2007 at 08:02 PM.

All these ideas are worthy.
I have a serious problem with hard water here. I have to be VERY careful not to spot my paint. Make sure I keep the entire car wet at all times. Clean a wheel....spray car back down.
Kinda sucks....but at least I am over the grass most of the time.

there is a really good cleaner wax called zymoil, i get mine at target its a blue bottle and a liquid wax or polish whatever its amazing especially on black, i can do it in the heat of the day and it still buffs off perfectly, its great for water spots aluminum wheels and windows too,

well yeagh i have limo all the way around and than of course the sail panel, but typically after washing i take a quick cruise around the block to get the wheels relatively dry, than the top of the car than the white, works out great for me,

I always do the wheels first. Never wash a black car in direct sunlight. I always dry the hood, spoiler, sail panel and anything parallel with the ground first. Flat areas seem to spot faster. (gravity I guess)

^^^ AGREED- Flat areas definately seem to dry/spot faster then vertical. Its not possible IMO to wash a car in the sun without spots. I dry my car in the same order as you do. The only difference is I wash and dry my wheels seperately after I wash/dry the car.

i actually don't wash my wheels-i just use wheel cleaner and a towel on them so they don't retain a bunch of water and spin it out on the car.

I have chrome so all I do is use regual car wash soap on em and done. I love the look of polished aluminum but I cant stand the labor involved.

I use the buffer to remove from paint. Now on the glass and t tops I use chrome polish and a foam pad.
