Rattle..

I've got this rattle coming from some where inside my engine. I think it might be a lifter but i really cant tell all that well. I've heard this same rattle on other trans am and camaros and I even heard it on my wifes impala with a v6, which i beleve is the same style engine just the 6 cylinder. Is anyone else having/had this problem and can tell me what is wrong.

does it sound like a clicking sound? and when you accelerate gets louder? if so i have same prob hehe

Use a short garden hose or long piece of metal, hold it to your ear and move it around different points on your engine while running. Wherever you hear the noise the loudest is where it is coming from.

Could be a bent push rod.

I had this same problem but found out that all it was , was a loose spark plug. Easy fix!

tried it. but under the those hoods its hard get every where, and i think it might be coming from the back.

loose plug huh, i'll try it, though i have to wait since i'm in japan right now, and car is in illinois. i never took them out though, but i guess they could loosen from the vibrations. sure hope it works.
