1997 Grand Cherokee- 1999 Firebird.
Computer gurus...I have a question/need help.
My brother bought an external DVD player/burner off of Ebay. He hooked everything up and everytime he tried to run it, it asks him for a keycode to unlock "power dvd 6". I'm clueless. He's contacted the seller but he was no help. It's an LG 18X external multi DVD model number GSA-E30L. I looked all over Limewire but I couldn't find a keygen and I searched Google and couldn't find any info on that model. HELP? (I'm not asking for anyone to break the forum rules). You can PM me the info, respond here or shoot me an email at nitrox28@hotmail.com. THANKS!!!!

There is a keycode on the CD Case or the little paper CD dom-a-hiky
You should not need an unlock code to USE the drive, just to watch DVDs

Ahh. Well, there was no factory jewel case with the burner. All that came was the burner and the CD with the drivers. Thoughts?

Like he said, you should not need a CD-key to run your drive. We're missing some piece of information here i think...

I would think the CD-Key is required for use of Power DVD 6 only... did the program come with the CD that has the drivers on it?
You could download shareware DVD software to see that only power dvd needs the key... No peice of hardware would require a key...

That code is just for the software. You can download free stuff to burn, play, and edit.

You'll need a burner program that will rip even copyrighted movies...otherwise the burner is pointless IMO. I use DVDFab Platinum 3...badass/easy program that'll burn a DL 1:1 copy with only a few clicks. They have a 30 day free trial on their site..

20 minutes...you must be compressing the data and burning on a standard 4.7 gig disk. You have a dual layer burner..might as well use it. The DL disks are more expensive but it's worth the better picture quality...but it takes about 40 min to a hour depending on the movie. I rip the movie to the hard drive and leave it there...then later on burn it (saves tons of time).

i had dvdfab 3 and it's pretty fuckin sweet. the length of the burn depends on how bad the movie is. coded and such. most of the time it takes about 20 min or so.
and the number on the disk, is the serial. i bought an LG burner that came with the power dvd disk. put the number on top of the disk in the serial spot. presto.

Also instead of doing a DL burn you can still have the movie uncompressed but it'll burn on 2 discs...you'll have to swap discs half way but there's no loss in quality. Might be faster too because the write speed will be higher then a DL burn.

Did you look on the software cd for instructions or the code? Just a thought.

The driver requires a key code that is created uniquely for each product that is bought. There must have been some keycode in the label or a keygen along with the software. Your dealer of that dvd is responsible for it to work. Try to pressure the dealer to solve that issue. Or maybe let them run it for you...

It's not the driver that needs it. It's the software that needs it. You can use windows media player to burn to any burner with out a product key for the software utility programs that's included with the hardware. If you browse the CD there should be a readme that tells you a support number you can call. They should be able to tell you a code for it.

It's the driver for the software lol! Some drivers so require a key code...
