Slipping clutch
But get this...only at part throttle.
Master = updated GM
Slave = updated GM (spaced out with the SPEC provided spacer)
Just rebleed to make sure that wasn't it.
Flywheel = stocker (machined)
Clutch = Spec 5
It holds perfectly fine under WOT into 4th gear. Barks the tires and no slip.
But if I punch it from 2500 RPM's or so in 3rd, 4th, or 5th it will spin up like it has a stall then grab in the upper RPM's.
Now...the engagement point on the pedal is literally right at the top. Not even an inch of movement to disengage.
Everything seemed fine up until recently. 3500 miles on the parts.
Could the flywheel have been machined too much?? I made the mistake of not getting an exact amount taken off.
What is too much?
Thinking about trying a SPEC billet steel on it to see if that does it. Good idea? Bad??
Any other ideas?2008 Trailblazer SS

Well I can tell you right now that the clutch should NOT be engaging that high on the pedal.
That leads me to believe that something is way out of adjustment or spec. I believe that our hydraulic systems are self adjusting, so even if the clutch disc was worn down badly, it still should grab *near* the stock engagement point.
Does your Spec 5 clutch have centrifigal weights on it?? Because that would explain why it doesn't slip at high RPM's, only at low RPM's. If the flywheel that you have is the improper thickness (too thick), that could cause clutch itself to be too close to the slave cylinder, which would cause the engagement point to be very high on the pedal, as well as put excessive wear on the T/O bearing and pressure plate fingers. It could also cause the clutch not to disengage all the way, if there is not proper clearance between the pressure plate and the transmission for the slave cylinder to release all the way.
Hope you get to the bottom of it, let us know what you find out.

I wouldn't skimp on the clutch. I'd get a Mcleod or Text.

Doesn't have enough torque anyways.

And I was right. But it damaged more than just the flywheel.

It was more than just the flywheel.
Overheating occured. We think it never really grabbed 100% thanks to the stock flywheel being taken down too far. Parts were fighting to hold.
Pressure plate...
Check out the cracks...
Disc...
Old stock flywheel...
New SPEC flywheel...
And how my car sits until Friday after work...
New clutch coming soon.

They grab great compared to a street tire.
Wear is rough. I figure 10,000 with them holding my power.

I like it.
I do need to get used to the new engagement point, but it drives nice.
Little more street friendly.
