Window acting funny on 07 mustang gt?
My girlfriend just bought one of these and the window does something funny, but I am sure it has a purpose.
With the windows completely up, when you open the door, the window will move down about half an inch, then after you close the door, the window goes back up all the way automatically.
Is this to prevent pulling the weather stripping when opening the door? Preventetive on smashing side windows????

yeah it helps to seal.
my vette does the same thing. it helps from forming a vacuum in the car or pressure building up and breaking windows when they get hot.

lets doors close easier as it releases pressure. I dont think it has anything to do at all with windows breaking.... but it is a ford.

Its normal and not unique to Ford either. I think it started on foreign cars first. The 350z being one that comes to mind.

just like other and your G/F have told you: to release/keep pressure from building up inside the car when you shut the doors...

to keep the windows from breaking in extreme temperatures for one, and also (on my car at least) there is a channel the window pane fits in to that prevents it from opening or closing unless it rolls down an inch or two. it makes a really good seal that way. keeps wind noise out too.
its how they reduced the cabin decibel of the new vette at 70 mph to the same level as the c5 at 45 mph
